I didn't see every speech, but check out these two. One from Emmitt Smith and the other from Floyd Little. Very moving and inspirational. Notice Emmitt at the 9 minute mark start to get emotional when talking about his fullback who blocked for him. Then how he acknowledged his family and many of his team mates. Floyd Little was great also.

    Tim,

I'll never forget Emmit playing well against the Giants with a separated shoulder.

I'll also never forget the contract dispute he had with the Cowboys.

After Emmit's initial contract was up, Emmit wanted to be paid like the rest of the top running backs in the NFL.

The Cowboys didn't agree and the Cowboys started the season without him.

I remember Emmit correcting Al on Monday night football when Al characterized Emmit's contract situation as a holdout.

Emmit clearly and calmly explained to Al that he did not have a contract with the Cowboys so therefore he was not "holding out".

The Boys lost their first 2 games of the season without Emmit and then they promptly gave Emmit the contract he wanted.

I remember Jerry Jones sheepishly ( at a press conference to announce the signing ) asking Emmit if he was happy now and Emmit smiling and saying yes.

    Now that was funny.

Emmit also had one of the best offensive lines of all time in front of him - ever, and...

... no team in history ran the Lead Draw play better than the boys with Moose Johnson leading the way for Emmit.

My wife had no idea that Dick Lebau was such a great player in his times.

I didn't know that John Randle had all those sacks.

I'm glad Floyd Little finally made it to the HOF.

I think Jerry Rice lead the league in dropped passes his first year but the rest is history.

I remember watching Russ Grim every Sunday playing for the Skins.

I was unaware of how many sacks Ricky Jackson accumulated.

Floyd Little was my first favorite player. It's a joke that it took him 35 years to make the Hall.

My Broncos have been to more Superbowls than any AFC team other than the Steelers, yet Floyd Little is just the 3rd Bronco in the Hall, after Elway (who was the first) and Gary Zimmerman. Bronco fans are not big fans of the Hall.

BTW, Syracuse football coach Ben Schwartzwalder who also coached Jim Brown and Ernie Davis said Floyd was the greatest football player he ever coached.

Floyd Little probably played behind the worst offensive line in the history of pro football. When he joined the Broncos, folks should know the year before the Broncos had a game where they had ZERO first downs. None by run, none by pass, none by penalty. Zero. This is a record that will never be broken.

This was the stat that finally got him in the Hall: On 30% of every play Floyd ran, his was hit behind the line of scrimmage, but still made positive yardage.

Favorite Floyd Little story: In his second year he fumbled late in the game. Couch Lou Saban fired Floyd on the spot. Floyd igored Saban and went back in the game. In the huddle he begged QB Marlon Briscoe (The first black pro QB) to throw him the ball. Floyd caught a 77 yard pass to set up the game winning field goal (and save his job).

He was also the first 1st round draft choice to play for the AFL Broncos...When drafted Floyd was asked why we went to the horrible Broncos instead of the NFL team that drafted him, Floyd said, "Because they needed me."

Listen up Lebron, Wade and Bosch...They don't make players like Floyd Little any more...

      30% is an amazing stat.

Just think how many more yards he could have run for if he had Emitt Smith's offensive line.

Well, he didn't forget too many others. I loved how he asked all these people to stand up including his cute kids. The best part to me was when he talked about his dad and how someone said what a great player he was in high school, but couldn't go to college and play because his dads mother got sick. Very moving.
