Hi Everybody, Sandy here

I was scrolling through some tweets on Twitter.com
and I ran across a recent entry by John Reese.
(I try to follow everything he does by the way.)

Well anyway, he had a link to this shocking video on his Twitter page,
and I found it revolting, shocking, and just plain nuts!

What do you think?

Here's the video:
LiveLeak.com - Super Baby, Aero Gymnastics with a 9 Month old Baby-boy

Here's to hanging this guy by his 'You Know What',
Sandy

P.S.
The video doesn't look fake.
But I sure hope with the kind of video manipulations available today,
that it is.

I hope they catch him before he kills or cripples that baby. It is just amazing the baby is smiling through the whole thing.

He is obviously in some other country so it may be difficult to catch him. I do see a warning message appealing to anyone who knows anything about the origin.

      Patricia,
Thanks for replying. That's exactly how I felt when I saw this unusual video.

The background music sounded as if this video is somewhere
      other than the United States.

I too hope they somehow locate this guy to at least find out
if this is a real video or someone putting some outrageous
      special effects in there.

It looked awfully real to me.

I wonder if these videos can be traced to where
      they were uploaded from.

      Sandy

If it was the USA the FBI certainly could trace it. Unfortunately it sounded like Russia or somewhere like that...

I recall my sons' father swinging them back and forth (though not 360 degrees) and the only crying was when he stopped and they wanted more.

If a healthy looking baby is smiling and laughing during the "abuse" - maybe it's not abuse but just stupid.

Stuff like this is why I dislike twitter and why I'm not a "follower".

Now that those who follow John are posting on forums and blogs and in emails, etc about this video - how many parents will try this? That's the real danger as this video may be enhanced and they may not know that.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

    Hi Sandy,

I cringed through the entire video. Am amazed by the fact that there are people "out there" who actually think this isn't dangerous to a baby. Sheesh.

If this was real, I agree with you. Someone should track him down and swing him around in the same fashion - only attached at the nads.

If it isn't real i.e., a clever video manipulation, but has been posted as an actual event...I'm afraid THAT says more about certain areas of humanity than anything else. Sad.

Trying to find some positive thing I can pull out of this? Well, if it is a fake - there is a special effects artist on the lose with some quality editing skills. I do some video editing from time to time and don't think I could pull that one off.

My only worry about that was the TV looked a little to close at times - and the one armed swings might pull an arm out of a socket in a young one. Older kids can take it okay. My mom used to get worried about anything rough my dad did with us kids, too - but if what he was doing scared us he always stopped. We got a few bruises now and again, but you show me anyone who never got bumps and bruises rough housing a bit, and I'll show you an adult that is scared of just about anything and everything.

That kid's going to be a daredevil for sure. He's not going to be afraid of anything. But daddy needs to cut out the one armed swings.

What utter BS. This child is being endangered and may have damage to every bone in his body - I hardly think it can be compared to 'rough housing' or a few bruises.

I recall reading somewhere that there's a weird practice in India where they drop babies from some place high. I didn't read the article, so I don't know the details, but it didn't sound like a very smart idea to me.

A Google search will give a bunch of search hits on this:

Thats news to me in India. Well if there are more than one billion people then you are bound to see some strange rituals.

Just received this a couple of days back from one of my friends.

El Colacho: the Baby-Jumping Festival ( Spain )

In celebration of the Catholic festival of Corpus Christi , grown men leap over newborns, with full parental consent. Donning scary, vaguely Elvis-like costumes and wielding whips and truncheons, the men attempt to "cleanse" the babies of evil. Evidently, recklessly leaping over them is the best way to achieve this. The town has observed the strange practice (called El Colacho) since 1620, and any onlookers who seem to be in need of a quick exorcism are pulled into the event, as well -- so look normal, by God! And leave your babies with the sitter.
