A short history lesson that's very relevant to "Election 2008":

Learning history's lesson the hard way

    I really liked this part:
"Sen. Obama will have succeeded in selling a vision of America that has little to do with the vision of its founding because so many Americans are now detached from and uninformed by the documents that defined the country - the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bible."
It's interesting because it's just another lie.Something the McCain camp has become experts in fabricating. McCain and his camp are now,as the saying goes, throwing any and everything against the wall to see what will stick.

No you didn't. You stated an opinion with no explanation as to why, specifically, you believe that the statement you quoted is a lie.

I believe that Obama's vision is far more in line with the America our founding fathers believed in and I also believe that the people that are
"now detached from and uninformed by the documents that defined the country - the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bible." Are the very people that are putting our propaganda stories like this.
I have paid attention to every candidate this election. McCain lies, no question. Palin preaches division in this country, thses are not the ideals America was born upon.

I believe the statement I quoted is a lie because it is.

I hope that Obama's competence matches the vision. The next President will face some harsh realities and visions will have to wait for either of them.

On the one hand I think it's great that a candidate has been able to motivate the younger generation to vote - on the other I wonder if they will vote and then go back to their ipods with no more interaction.

It's disconcerting to see interviews of young Obama supporters - who agree that Palin was a good choice for his running mate and those who can't even name the person Obama is running against.

Voting should be an informed choice - and there seems to be much misinformation on both sides.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

No matter because this year I believe we will have a record number of people casting votes for their favorite candidate without a clue as to exactly why they should.
Sounds like most elections (except for the record numbers) to me.
There can be some good in that though.
Maybe the new voters will stick around and become informed voters after this.

But when you think about it, look at all the hardcore Dems. and Repub. who vote party line no matter who is running. They disgust me a lot more.
Neither group seems concerned about anything more then discrediting the other party. What a pitiful bunch they are.

You have mentioned several times that you sold at flea markets but I never asked what you sold. I would think this has been a good year for you, at least I hope so.

If I lived in a major metropolis, I'd probably try my hand at flea markets.
These were always sold at the state fair when I was a kid, but I've seen several places that say you can make good money selling these and some cards at flea markets.

Like him or not, Obama certainly learned how to utilize what's copnsidered hip to get the youth on his team.
