    The story gets better.

Now you have city officials scrambling to post everyone`s salary on website to make it transparent. should`nt they have been doing this all along? Maybe they should also post the potential salary doing the election.

I live in Oceanside and our City Manager makes $19,000 per month plus $400 car allowance which still seems a little high.

Do you know the salaries of your elected officials?
They're starting to again say that they typically make 100-200% ****MORE**** than private people and that is real CASH, and does NOT include the better benefits and pension they get. And it is across the board from typical private minimum wage jobs to the most highest paid offices. And they ALWAYS get "cost of living" raises. And there is a FLOOR! A number of people here got HUGE raises even though the cost of living has gone up little.

There is one person here that has NEVER done her job and one of the arguments her opponent gives is that she has been there for 18 years if she defeats him, she will be there for 20 years and the taxpayers will have to pay her salary for the rest of her life.

I could say a LOT more. HEY, I don't view this as political. It is garbage that is related to no one party or ideal, and it IS one thing that got us into the mess we are in.

      A little high??
You realize, adding in the car allowance that's 232,800 a year.
That's in a state that's a hair away from bankruptcy, and rivals NY in taxes.
If the city manager has erased taxes and put the city in the black,
I would think 80,000 a year would be more in line with the job.

As long as we continue to allow no term limits, these people are going to make careers - and their careers are on us, yet THEY decide how much they get.

If we don't like it...term limits. Period.
