Why Was My Post Deleted?

Hello,

I recently created a long thread with 10 tips on marketing online. It was mostly about techniques and not any quick rich schemes. I did not link to any site no did I reference to any site either.

Still I find that my thread was deleted. It was a completely unique article written exclusively for warrior forum members. I did not receive any explanation for thread deletion as well.

I tried sending a feedback, but did not get any response either. Can some of the mod's help me. I need to know the reason so that I can refrain by making any mistakes, if I did, in the future.

The post was made on the Main Internet Marketing Discussion Forum

Thanks everyone

Why not ask the help desk. Maybe they thought your thread was clutter. Kind of like how I feel about this one.

I understand about the clutter thing. But there are many people who post the same kind of questions over and over again. Those are not yet removed.

I understand that the admin and mod's have the right to delete posts. but, wouldn't it be nice if they deleted the posts with an explanation? This is not a rant, but a request for a feature addition to WF.

Taking up space like you are with this thread is not the way to go about learning. Use the search feature and go find the answers you're looking for.

I tried searching for a reason but I couldn't find any threads relating to why posts get deleted.

I was not looking for a solution, rather I was giving a solution for people. I tried contacting the Help Desk and some Mods. I am yet to receive a reply.

I am sure that this thread will serve as a reference to people who face the same issue as i do now.

It could have been an accident. Try posting it again.

In my forum today I tried to move a thread to the Main forum and first it broke the thread in 2 pieces so the responses are separate from the original post. Not only that but it never got to the main forum.

So now I have sent the other piece - 2 answers with no question.

Will I get infractions for posting it again? What if the mod who deleted it finds it offensive and decide to ban me for reposting?

I just want to make sure before I report. Thats all

They would very likely ban you for some time. At least one of the mods has a standard 7 day ban policy for reposting deleted threads. It's not about being offended, though. It's about making sure that people don't get the idea that they can post whatever, whenever, and ignore obvious actions by a moderator or a group of members objecting to a thread.

The reason for not getting an explanation has already been mentioned. Too many posts get deleted for various reasons to explain them all. If yours was removed and no other action taken, it's not a problem, unless you keep doing the same thing.

I didn't see the post in question, but it sounds like it was an article. Most of the time, articles that look like articles get removed. They're usually posted either as a promotional gimmick or a lead-in to a WSO or other stealth promotion. Even if they weren't, allowing them would end up with the main forum looking like an article directory, rather than a discussion area.

BTW... Normally this thread would simply have been nuked on sight. It would have without question had it been in the main forum.

And please, folks... don't send people to the help desk to ask about specific actions by moderators in removing posts. The odds that Tom will have an answer are slim, and he won't override another moderator without much more cause than "I want to know why?"

Ooops.... Could have made the same mistake. Glad i decided to take the suggestion of the WF community.

Do mods have the ability to check the issue?

With over 2 million posts and over 200,000 members, do you really think the mods have time to inform everyone who gets a post deleted why?

First, don't expect explanations. There are far too many people on this forum and the mods won't tell you what you should be learning on your own.

Second, a post titled "why was my post deleted" will almost always get deleted, too. It's one of the unwritten rules that you just need to be a member a while to learn. Usually, these are arguing so the mods just don't bother and they delete. Do this too many times and it could result in temporary vacation from the place.

Third, another of those unwritten rules that kind of should be common sense is that we don't post articles to the forum. It's a discussion board, not an article directory. I suspect that is why your post was deleted.

Just accept it, move on and you'll be fine.

I guess it should have been posted to the blog. Anyway I see many article type posts here which are nothing but crap. Eg: what are the on page and off page seo factors which are not even accurate.

Anyway I am leaving that matter and will publish the articles elsewhere.

            Thanks

OK - maybe not post it again - I stand corrected.

Too bad they deleted the Warrior Article Forum -

How about the forum blog? I bet that would fly.

Well, don't feel to bad. I had a post deleted for welcoming a newbie! No self-promotion, just complete sincerity.
