Sometimes There Is A Damn Good Reason For Resurrecting An Old Thread

I was at Google looking up turn based RPG games because I'd really like to
get one with a similar engine to Sorcery Quest, except on CD so i can play
it on my PC any time I want and not have to wait freakin' 2 hours to get a
turn.

Well, I found a URL at Google that lead to a forum where somebody asked
the same question. After reading the thread, I had some questions that
weren't answered. So I was going to register in order to be able to ask my
question.

And then I saw the date of the thread.

It was July of 2009.

That's right folks. The thread is over a YEAR OLD.

Imagine what might have happened had I done the same thing for some
Internet marketing info and was directed to a thread here (they are
indexed you know) where some of my questions were answered but not all
and I registered and resurrected that thread by asking my questions.

I might have very well been tarred and feathered.

Just saying.

Sure, if somebody pulls up an old thread just to say, "Thanks for sharing"
well yeah, there's no value added to the thread and I can see people
getting ticked off.

But if somebody asks a more than valid question, no need to jump all
over them like I have seen some people do here.

Remember, not everybody goes rummaging through old threads just to find
something to BS on. Sometimes these threads (which ARE indexed) come
up in people's searches online.

How do I know?

It just happened to me today.

And boy, did it feel weird with the shoe on the other foot.

Now, I wonder if I'll ever get the nerve to go back there and ask my
question, especially since there was already one post there mentioning
how that thread was already resurrected once...and not to too kind a
reception I might add.

Yeah, it sure is different when YOU'RE the one who needs the answers.

** EDIT ** The original thread was November 2008...almost 2 years ago.
July's entries of last year were just the most recent.
