I bought a MacBookPro today...or my girlfriend bought me a MacBookPro. It doesn't matter...I now have one! I will open it when I get to my house...

And I will install the CS5 tonight or tomorrow. I can't wait to start experimenting and learning how to use the CS5.

Now...I hope that it will only be a matter of time before I come out with some Professional Looking Clickbank Item!!!!!!

I debated long and hard about whether to go Mac when I launched my company about 3 years ago. I'm so glad I did. We're up to 4 Macs now & I haven't missed all the maintenance and down time that I had to deal with on my old Windows machines.

Mac's aren't for everyone, but they sure are for me!

It'll probably take you a bit of transition time to get used to the differences, but once you do I think you'll find using Windows doubly frustrating now.

Owning the Adobe Creative Suite does not make anyone a professional, it really depends on what you can produce with it and if you can make money with it.

Its a huge learning curve that even the best of the best still have to stay on top of, there is much, much to learn.

I own the adobe creative suite masters collection and even though I can produce some very, very high quality products/graphics I still think I have not even come close to learning what can be learned.....

I TOTALLY concur! Trying to learn all aspects of Flash, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc. is very, very daunting - it'll take years to become a master of all of them. This is something you can't learn overnight, folks!

Ownership of the software suite does not automatically make you a master of them. It'll take lots of time and dedication to actually produce something professional with these tools. Just as an example, I've gone through many Photoshop manuals that are almost as thick as a bible...and that is just one component within the suite of applications!

Following the note of this known warrior I would advise taking short courses with your new mac from college or night school, That is how i learned photoshop and paint shop pro taking a short multimedia course.
way back in 1997 with other mac softwere such as illistrator (excuse my spelling) Then just google.com for the rest hanging around this forum for internet marketing and business advice whilst training myself to use the effects in the softwere

Start small take time when i first purchased my mac i had to sit for 7 hours watching you tube videos on how to send a email from a macbook pro to installations and os x But it is like riding a Bike of course your not going to fall off from a mac but its the learning curve. You can use some great sites which will teach you how to use custom cs5 softwere video boss i think is one i have used for video production which is mac orientated.

Love being in the mac family also. Sorry i have been a user of windows since win95 and win 3.1 but i am so in love with my macbook just been for breakfast in a public place today and loved how i can pull my mac out and just work with still 99% full battery and full airport signal to wi-fi which was a nightmere doing with windows laptop's and the systems like vista ect,

          Hope that helps

            Place cd
            connect printer with computer usb
            disconnect

you lucky guys with your new mac`s.

mine got stolen last night (seriously they broke into all offices of our office building and stole all notebooks last night). But as I did daily time machine backups, its just the laptop I lost and not all my work. And maybe insurance will pay a new one, so let`s see if I can jump into this thread soon again with a different message.

GoogleWarrior, I hope you're using an external mouse. Using CS5 with a laptop's trackpad has to be a wrist suicide.
EDIT: Oh, and welcome to the virus-less world.

Can anyone elaborate a bit on what's so special about Mac and CS5?

There is a CS5 version for PC also, why so much excitement to use it on Mac? I know Mac computers produce better graphics compared to PCs but if you have higher end graphics card on your PC, it can also produce great graphics quality.

I just can't understand, why so much excitement shown in this thread for having a Mac with CS5?

Making great graphics or video doesn't happen because of what software you have but it's your creativity that matters.

If you are creative enough, you can make great images in MSpaint as well!

    Welcome dear switcher.

I doubt that now that you have your own Mac you will ever come back to PCs.

There are a lot of mac haters out there and I believe that the majority of them hasn't even tried one for real (let's say, a month).

Congratulations and use it to make some serious money

I am going to say something that is going to get me Lynched by the Mac Mob... but Mac is not the be all an end all of computers..

I had one it is very dependable an yes no viruses etc.. But very little is truly easily compatible, alot of the software you are getting a sub standard mac version (if they make a mac version)

I had one and it was an experience, but for now PC is like comfort food it feels like home and makes sense.

P.S. I am proudly PC and I don't mean politically correct

I agree that Mac is not the end all, beat all for computers. If there is a specific piece of software that only runs on Windows and is critical to a business then I recommend Windows.

However that seems to be less and less the case all the time.

About the only software I use that is substandard on the Mac comes from Intuit. For some reason Quickbooks and Quicken for Mac is WAY behind the Windows version.

Beyond that, I haven't noticed any issues. In fact, most things I use tend to be better in the Mac version.

Of course I don't use gobs of IM software, either. Seems like much of that is Windows only.

But there is a bit of an adjustment period when switching over, for sure. Things are a little different between the two.
