The Most

The most expensive thing I ever bought was an old music synthesizer back
in the early or mid 80s. I don't remember the exact price but it was a
Yamaha CS60. I think it was around $1,250.

I've actually purchased quite a few music synths in the last 25 years or so
that all cost around that same price. For all I know, some may have been
a little more but the CS60 stands out because it was my first really big
purchase.

Yamaha DX 7
Korg Wavestation
Korg Triton Rack
Yamaha CP 20

Most of the stuff I got recently, even my Boss 8 channel digital recorder
was pretty cheap. Technology has come down a lot in price over the
years and stuff that cost thousands 25 years ago can be gotten for
hundreds now and able to do a whole lot more and sound a whole lot
better.

My normal "high end" purchases are like $300.

No, I don't spend a lot of money on stuff.

** EDIT ** Okay, the original price tag of the CS 80 was $6,900.
So the CS 60, which was just 2 oscillators less, if I remember
correctly, had to be more than $1,250. I think it was probably
around $2,500 after the discount when I bought it from Rondo
Music.

In any case, I am quite sure the CS 60 was the most expensive
thing I ever bought outside of my home and all the cars I
bought.
