what is their purpose
they are speaking Obama's name

Video 1 - This is cool like a bootcamp - kids need structure and at least their pants aren't hanging down around their thighs like the kids on the street.

Video 2 & 3 It's actually good to see Americans that look like they are part of something vs. the mood from the present administration - disenfranchised.

However, I hope he doesn't start passing out kool aid or anything. Kind of freaky.

(and a big boooo for all the ones speaking Spanish - they live in their own little world and are divisive) case in point: what the hell are they saying?

In the first one - I think it's great to see those kids wanting to BE something - and if Obama inspires them to become something, it's a good thing.

They are talking about careers that require a real education - it's a step up from "I want to play basketball/football" and idolizing sports stars who so often have feet of clay.

Though a hoax, it is a political satire, and thus not without merit. And whereas many Americans are divided over its status as a genuine report or a hoax, in the end, this should not really matter. Whether someone wrote it for the US government, or Lewin wrote it for the American public, there is a message.
A 41 year old hoax? It proved that if you tell people something they want to believe - they will keep it going and believe and debate it long after you tell them you made it up.

What was the goal of the hoax? He stated that "what I intended was simply to pose the issues of war and peace in a provocative way. To deal with the essential absurdity of the fact that the war system, however much deplored, is nevertheless accepted as part of the necessary order of things.
A product of the Vietnam era that suited right wing proponents to use to "inform" their followers - the author says it was totally fiction but these people years later claim "fact" because it suits their purpose.

I think it is important for a lot of people to feel like they are a part of something like a movement or a political race.
And as far as the kids...I agree with Patrician...at least these kids arent on the streets.

As for the boys in the video.... Why are they chanting Alpha and Omega?

Isn't that what God refered to as ONLY him?

Rev 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Unfortunately, that's probably what our military will look like after a couple years of Obama.

    The first video is interesting.

If those kids need discipline they should join the (actual) military which provides an extraordinary level of character development that carries over into their civillian life and inspires many to greater things. Think about how many leaders in all walks of life (not just politics) are ex-military servicemen and women (and I don't just mean in the U.S. either).

Also, while I can't speak for the U.S., I do know that, since the video gives an immediate impression of para-military training (which, admittedly may be out of context), coupled with the political mantras being used, it would attract immediate attention from the police here (in Ireland) and be investigated as a potential threat to the security of the State, no matter who they were praising (actually it would attract even MORE attention if their were praising the Taoiseach (our closest equivalent to the President in the U.S.) in that way).
