So you have been sucked in by the Apple Propaganda machine.

I know many people with the IPhone. Propaganda or not it's a decent phone. I don't have it because I am not, nor will I go, on the AT&T network.

I DID break down and buy the Evo (Sprint's Android phone). I have had it 2 weeks now and I love it. Even my IPhone friends like it (of course, they are also quick to point out where their IPhones are better - LOL).

Sprint is using scarcity marketing on this one... if you try to order it on line through your account, they tell you that due to the high demand you can only buy them at authorized stores.

Then you go to the stores and most don't carry them. They make you "pre-order" it and it takes over a week to get it.

Please... the news reports are all over about the numbers not being what Sprint claimed

Here's a tip for anyone who wants to buy one but not wait. I got mine at Best Buy. I spoke to the Mobile Manager about needing to get it before my 2 week trip out of the area.

They took someone's "pre-order" that was never picked up (they had about 8 in their cabinet) and gave it to me. So I had mine the same day

        Mike,
I didn't say the iphone wasn't a good phone.I'm sure its ok. I don't know for sure because I don't have one nor ever will.
ATT network? I have heard it sucks, so I wouldn't want to go on it either, though I would probably say I think Sprint does too. And I am a Sprint customer for at least 10 years now. But thats neither here nor there, back to the iphone.
Its probably a decent phone, but no phone imo is worth what Apple charges for it.
My daughter has a droid. She hated it at first but I think she is changing her mind about it slowly. I tell her to toss it over to me if she ever decided to get rid of it.
Getting back to Sprint. Last month our bill was about $35 more than it was suppose to be. When we called and asked why, it seems my wife downloaded 2 pictures someone sent to her over the phone. Talk about highway robbery. Gosh, don't get me going about crappy Spring service!

That exact thing happened to me. And here's why I LOVE Sprint...

I called them and pitched a bit of a fit. I told them my business is all internet and I know how much data transfer costs. I told them they were purposely charging that much to push people into their everything plan, etc.

Before I even finished my rant they deleted the charges (my son downloaded a game and my step daughter downloaded a picture - over $90).

They didn't argue, try to blame me, or anything. They simply deleted the charge and said "Is there anything else we can do for you today?"

Now, I AM on the Everything plan for 5 phones. I applied a 25% corporate discount I got from a friend and I pay just under $200 total (for all five phones, all with unlimited data, texting, mobile to mobile, etc.).

As for the network, I have had very little issue with it, so I am happy there.

Let me know if you need a 25% corporate discount...

Well, my wife called them and pitched a little fit and when the Customer Rep said "too bad",she asked to speak to a manager. She was told a manager was unavailable ( happens more and more frequently nowadays) and that one would have to call her back. They never did.
Where I live I have MAJOR network problems, and shouldn't. I can tell you 9 or 10 places where I am going to drop the call I am on if I go through it.

And of course your right about the charges. They are trying to get people to go for the everything plans, but honestly,it is not worth the extra expense for my wife and I.

Yeah, the Everything plan sure isn't for everyone. For me, 4 out of the 5 numbers on my plan use data and/or texting a LOT.

I guess I am lucky with drop outs. I know maybe 2 spots I drop calls and I can blame it on the mountains near where I live...

And I am surprised about the support you got. What I described above was not the only time I called with an issue and they remedied my situation every time with no arguments. Including OTHER refunds or credits I wanted. I wonder if it's simply a different call center...

Well, AT&T is one company I HATE! I once tried to tell them!!!!!!!

    "*****NOBODY****** wants a phone!
    *****NOBODY***** wants phone "service"!
WHY WOULD THEY!?!? It is a NUISANCE and expense!

THEY WANT TO BE ABLE TO TALK TO THE OTHER PERSON!!!!!!!

They just COULDN'T understand the concept! Interesting given their old tag line of "Reach out and touch someone..."

I mean WHAT could that mean? If I believed all they said, given the context of my call, it would have to mean "BUY OUR 'SERVICE' so you can feel like you should, and might even, give us a black eye!". I always thought it meant to talk to them like you're there, especially with the second sentence that said "Reach out and just say HI!". But that translation CAN'T be accurate since it would reguire them to understand why they are there, and why I was angry!

Maybe it is the "someone" they didn't understand? Maybe they thought you would be appeased by talking to the nextdoor neighboor? NOPE, that can't be it, I couldn't even do THAT in michigan or virginia.
