Do you really think that clobbering your paying WSO customers with 3 or 4 junk email offers a day is a good business model?

Requiring an email subscription for a valuable, FREE wso is a fair trade. It's expected.

But I don't think paying customers should be forced to subscribe to an email list to get their purchase. Enough said...

    Two steps.

    1. Unsubscribe from the list.
    2. Never buy from those people again.

    Over time, the people who do this will go out of business.

    I don't have a problem with giving my details for a paid product if it's a good product that you may want to receive updates for. Plus you can always unsubscribe. But you are right, they should bombard you with 3 or 4 emails a day, that's just spam!

      Of course, unsubscribe!

      I don't object to signing up for updates but not this type of tactic. It's a bit of an insult to a paying customer to try to flog unrelated stuff immediately after purchase without even building up rapport and trust beforehand.

    If those type of marketers were smart, they would had given their customers an option on the download page to subscribe for updates, instead of force opt-ins that would leave a negative experience.

        What I do is give my paying customers the option of signing up to receive
        early notices about new offers.

        They can then choose to either sign up or not.

        But if they DO sign up, expect to get emails of offers especially since I said
        up front THAT'S what they'd be getting.

        I have no problem with people complaining about being FORCED to opt in to
        a list in order to receive a purchase. That's essentially holding your purchase
        hostage.

        But if you voluntarily opt into a person's list, please don't bitch about being
        marketed to.

        That's what we do.
