Addon Domain not connecting to WordPress

Hey Guys

I have an existing WordPress blog.

I've added an Addon Domain with my host and I want to use it for another blog using W/P. In the FTP it connects ok, but it won't connect with WP. It tells me it's a 500 Internal Server Error.

I've tested the domain & server with my website builder (which is not WP) and it works fine. It would publish if I wanted it to.

The problem is I don't want it for a website - only another WP blog.

What am I doing incorrectly?

Thanks for any advice
RogerW

There are a number of things that could be wrong. But it is best that you ask your webhost directly for help.

I'm having this same problem with word press also. I'm trying to set up a network of auto-blogs and it's not working. I continue to get errors with the add on domains. Now I need to try to map these domains. It's a big pain in the neck. I haven't figure it out yet, but I will let me know when I do.

        Hi Sarah

I took my problem to my host (Hostgator) using chat line and a very helpful lady installed it from her end. I don't know how, but it works.

So perhaps if you get in touch with your host thay may be just as helpful. I hope so anyway. At least the probs are fixable.

        All the best to you

How long ago did you set up the domain? Maybe it hasn't propagated yet. I would try pinging the web address from your computer and see if it pings to the right IP address.

      Thanks for replying Gary.

It's been set up for some months. It connects with FTP, I just can't figure what I've done wrong in configuring for WordPress, when my other WP blog is ok.

      Hi Gary

Thank you so much for your kind offer. I discovered it after I got in touch with someone at my host service and unlike the others (who too were very helpful) she fixed it & set it up for me. Don't know what she did but it's working.

      So thank you again.
