Ok,

1. I have tried a while to get verizon to get my phone to work as advertised! THEY FAILED!
2. Today they failed AGAIN, after a long time friend was called by my phone pocket dialing, which it is NOT to do!

Today I realized I was so *****STUPID*****! I was going about it the WRONG way! I can't stop my phone from dialing. They will NOT help me! WHAT TO DO? WHAT TO DO!?!?!?!?

I setup ***ALL*** my speed dial(A FAVORITE of the pocket dialer) options to 611!!!! I will ALSO select that menu before "locking" the phone.

NOW, if it works as it has before, it will call VERIZON tech support!

If **I** can't get their attention, maybe my PHONE can! Two things are for sure....

1. It will be less likely that it will set a speed dial, since it has to confirm the replacement!
2. It will be FAR less likely to dial any of my contacts!

Verizon? I hope you get LOTS of calls!

Steve

I have to admit I could never spend that much effort on a cell phone. I have never had the fascination with fancy phones that most people seem to have.

I'd cancel or just turn the damned thing off.

I got rid of mine because I live so far out in the country there is virtually no service.

When I first moved here I got a new one and the first bill was for $353.00. All incoming text messages. I call up Sprint and asked them WTF was going on and they told me the person who had my number previously had signed up for a service and it wasn't their problem.

Yup, they just wanted me to roll over and pay the bill. It took me 5 hours on the phone and a trip into a neighboring town to get them to see that I hadn't done anything to warrent paying for those text messages.

What a crock, as soon as my commitment was up with them I bailed. And the 'no bars' situation was the reason I'll wait til they put up a cell tower in my neck of the woods before I get another one.

Question: How many free 611 calls do you get before they start charging you?

I don't know, but I shouldn't have to pay for ANY calls ***I*** don't make! to tell you the truth, it has probably made an average off 2-3 calls per year, THAT I KNOW OF. But the fact that someone can hear MY private business, or that they can be annoyed, etc... is down right CRIMINAL. I mean THIS is why we don't have party lines anymore.

OK, so you are saying SPRINT is ALSO bad!

BTW do you know how the LAST phone company I did work for got started? Here's a hint, they made MILLIONS of dollars, and ****NEVER**** billed a natural person! NO natural person EVER had to pay a PENNY!

Well, all the BIG guys, like AT&T, SPRINT, etc... wanted BIG markets! THIS company bought LITTLE markets! LATER, the government got tired of this garbage, and sold markets on the condition that companies would take BOTH. Well, this company would buy a large and a little market, and tell a company like AT&T that they would take the small market off their hands and give them a big one. Of course TODAY they have decided to be a COMPETITOR and now they have big markets also, BUT they went for YEARS never billing a natural person. HOW!?!!?

Well, what happens if an AT&T or sprint customer goes into a SMALL market!?!?!? 8-) YEP, this company billed AT&T, Sprint, etc... DIRECTLY! What they at least used to call roaming.

Gee, maybe they should look at getting a tower in YOUR area!

Yeah, I get around! I've done work for 3 phone companies...(Frontier, AT&T, and US cellular<<<the one I just discussed).

I had an attorney friend in my office one day and when he left the meeting he accidently pocket dialed my number. His phone picked up every word he and his girl friend were saying to each other. I listened for a while as they were discussing the meeting, but then figuered I'd hang up before he realized I was on the line...

Those bozos have the worst customer service on record. They brought in a big wig from AT&T as CEO to try and fix the problem. Too late for me, though. I'm forever done with them.

Btw, in 1986 I had a friend tell me he got a job with a new company. He said Southern Pacific Railroad was laying a fiber optic cable along all of the right-of-ways they had in North America using a special train that dug a ditch and buried the cable along side the RR tracks.

The name of the company was... Southern Pacific Railroad Intercontinental Network of Telecommunications.

Gee, maybe they should look at getting a tower in YOUR area!
            Now, wouldn't that be nice...

    Kay,

    HERE is my phones HISTORY!!!!!!!

    1. A clamshell type on MY terms! It was rather simple.

I found out that PAC BELL LIED to me about coverage!!!!

    2. I got an AT&T phone. They had NO clamshell, so I was STUCK! I got a regular old phone. It was rather simple.

They couldn't understand that coverage meant being able to call someone and actually TALK to them!

    3. I got a CLAMSHELL from verizon, on SOMEWHAT my terms. They thought I should pay MUCH more for it because it had a lousy "camera".

An IDIOT "TSA agent" hit the phone and sent it FLYING, destroying the battery. Since the battery was specific to the phone, and they didn't make the phone anymore, the phone is so much GARBAGE!

    4. I got a blackberry. It was about the only phone I could get with some kind of "lock". It turns out that it can even dial 911(SPECIFICALLY) by ITSELF, WHILE LOCKED! It HAS at least TWICE! I CAN'T turn it off since it is so others can reach me. I ALSO use it as an alarm clock though THAT has problems TOO!

BTW I AM planning on dropping it. I'm just waiting for something BETTER! THAT is why I haven't upgraded though I could have over a YEAR ago. ALSO, there is NO cancellation fee at this point. And I think I will end up going with SPRINT. I should be able to cut my monthly phone charges SUBSTANTIALLY.

    Still, They OWE me!
