What the hell was this in my email?

I decided to clean out my SPAM folder of my email. A couple (actually six) of subjects jumped out at me. URGENT, Your Tax Payment ID 0103344463 (numbers change for each one) has been rejected.

I am not sure what this scam is trying to accomplish, but I found it intrestingly stupid, with the numerous spelling errors.

I wonder if these scumb bags actually make any money from doing this kind of stuff.

I must've received about 50 of those emails yesterday. Bloody annoying.

You would think that the Internet Scammers would at least learn how to use the Spell Check... I know our government isn't perfect, but they at least pay people to spell check their legal documents. All I can do is shake my head to such ignorance. And no, I doubt they make any real money with this tactic.

Looks like I wasn't the only one! I noticed my spam count rose tremendously in the last 3 days, I wonder if my server got hacked or something. This unusually annoying spam/scam is becoming a hot topic on Facebook too.

I received hundreds of similar emails this morning across most of my email accounts. Luckily most were picked up by the spam filter on my server and only a few slipped through to my MS Outlook.

Yep - I keep getting those in mine, too. I never trust the emails that come to that account, so I always double-check before opening. Who knows what horrors might befall me - or those on my contacts list, for that matter.

You have to wonder at the mentality that will think up this scam and email massively - and can't spell English worth a damn.

There are sophisticated spam and phishing emails that almost look like the real thing - but this certainly isn't one of those.

Yes - like the ones that come from "Fedex Shipping" and say in the subject line that "Your packages didn't arrive at their destination." Talk about heart-stopping.
