question on domain names

I keep hearing that try to get your keywords in to your domain name. Great i can manage that lol, but for example.

If my keyword was, how to walk dogs
and i goto make a domain name. howtowalkdogs dot com reads quite weird, if i was to use how-to-walk-dogs dot come reads better but is this as good.
Also say if a domain name is taking would howtowalkdogs101 be just as good.

Sorry for all these questions, but just trying to find ansews to what i have not found yet.

    You want to avoid hyphens if possible. Many people forget about hyphens so it makes your site more difficult to remember, meaning you could lose returning traffic. Adding the 101 would be a better choice.
