Good News! (For me at least!)

Just got a call from my transplant coordinator and she informed me that I have passed the two years of being considered cancer free (though I think the real 2 year anniversary is November 13th) AND I have passed all the physical tests that deem me healthy enough for a transplant.

Now I just have to convince them that we can find a solution to the prednisone problem............

Oh, one other thing, the final talley so far for The Kidney Walkers is $8230.
Way to go Warriors!!
(We do have time to break $10000)

Great - get on that list!!!

Kim - is it prednisone only - or all corticosteroids that cause the problems for you?

Kim - what is the reason they are refusing the alternative drug protocol that doesn't include prednisone?

"Kim - is it prednisone only - or all corticosteroids that cause the problems for you?"

Kay, prednisone is the steroid I have knowledge of taking.
I even have begun to think as someone (I think it was Steve) that it may have cause my kidney failure.

"Kim - what is the reason they are refusing the alternative drug protocol that doesn't include prednisone?"

Sal, at this point they have not ouright refused it,rather sidestepped the possibility is maybe a better term. In other4 words they have told me that there are no other alternatives. At my next meeting I am certainly going to bring it up.
