What are the downsides of making money online?

Making money online has many great benefits, ie. easy to start up, great money, lots of spare time, auto-pilot money in the long-term etc.

But as with everything, it has its pros and cons. I'd say one of the downsides for me is when you're online, sometimes you get addicted and you sit in front of the monitor for something like 2-3 hours straight. It's bad for your general fitness and health.

What's a downside to making money online for you?

There is no money in it. We're in a global depression and the economy is going to crash. Why are you talking about making money in such a time like this? Don't you see what is happening around you?

I disagree, if you follow a good health regimen and take care of yourself first, you're not going to suffer health problems. I am on the computer all day..but the first thing I do when I get up in the morning is have a good breakfast and exercise for at least 45 minutes, I do a 4 mile walk CD every morning.

I limit myself to two hour blocks of time on the computer, then I might go outside and do gardening for an hour or walk around the block for an hour.

Being on the computer is totally addicting, but if you set yourself a strict schedule and stick to it, it works.

The only downside I can see is if you can't control your "working" time, or set your priorities, can't adhere to a strict schedule and don't take care of yourself...i.e. diet, exercise..and quality time with family/friends.

        Thanks Rob.

LOL! This was intended as a little tongue in cheek. Just don't tell anyone how much you make, or you will be attacked viciously by the doom sayers in this forum. People are whining and complaining about how bad the economy is, then blast anyone who rises above a certain preconceived level of success.

The major downside of making money online for me is socializing with "brick and mortar" slave earners who hate their jobs, but won't do anything about it when offered an opportunity many of us enjoy here.

I "work" about two hours a day, and the other downside is hanging over my belt. I'm well on my way to becoming the proverbial big, fat, capitalistic pig.

sit in front of the monitor for something like 2-3 hours straight.
      Don't over exert yourself

If you work a JOB - you work usually 8 hrs a day. You take breaks, get exercise and eat a balanced diet.

No different working online for yourself - except sometimes you work 10-12 hrs or more rather than 8.

Yeah, about 2-3 hours straight in a block. I usually spend around 6hrs but mixed up with listening to music and doing a bit of general surfing online, taking it very easy. I'm trying to cut it down though. Like do 1 hours online, and then go outdoors for some time before going on the computer again.

Unless and until you established your self with the minimum amount I know we are really working very hard. Because of my addiction to computer and internet I have fat tummy now and hence shifted to morning exercise.

    Downside of this is -

You do not want to left it even you are earning very good (as you expect if you work more you will get more) and if you are not earning than you are giving more and more time to it.

So ultimately there is some break on growth ... physically and mentaly. You can get over from it if you can manage a strong daily schedule.

If you're making money, then there's NO disadvantage, are you kidding?

As for sitting so long since you don't have a boss, you can get up and start doing jumping jacks or aerobics or dancing anytime you want. If you had to sit in an office all day in a regular job you couldn't do that.

Shay, you just need one of those computers that gets power from a stationary bicycle, that's all. No pedal, no Warrior Forum.
We can bellydance together! That would be an awesome YouTube video...

I think the bicycle computer idea is a good one.

Okay, I have a confession to make.

I had my $300 day because I sold my belly dancing videos. :p

I find that the biggest problem I have from making money online is wondering how to spend it all.

That $1.51 from Adsense today is giving me a headache, not to mention the women who won't leave me alone now they know I am a big-time internet marketer.

Some online business require 14 hours a day with small rewards...

Other online businesses require only a "4 hour work week"- with very, very, high paying rewards.

don't let your self- limiting beliefs hold you back from developing a business that runs with out you...
