Today has been a comedy of errors.

The PC Tools anti virus installed fine and found a lot of junk that Kaspersky
NEVER picked up...Thanks for the suggestion Bill.

However, I also got the registry mechanic and it won't install.

Here is the error that I get. I attached the image...I think.

Any clues?

First of all, antivirus programs are a HACK! They try to get problems, and figure ways to find them and get rid of them. THIS means that NO product is PERFECT! It is IMPOSSIBLE for them to be perfect, since new viruses are being created ALL THE TIME! One product may FAIL on all but 10 cases and maybe every other prodyct does 10s of THOUSANDS, but can't do those 10. So don't think this problem proves ANYTHING!

The error you posted a graphic of appears to be that the VB6.0 rueven time can't be reinstalled. I would try to SKIP that file, and continue with the install. Maybe some VB program is running and has that file locked.

I kind of figured that's what it was but will skipping it cause any problems with the install?

I guess there's no way to know.

Yeah, if they knew that, there would be no option. It could be PARTIALLY installed or an old version(USUALLY new versions are given new names), and the program will later crash when run. It COULD be a lock to prevent a fix from being loaded, and the program will later crash. It COULD be infected by the virus, unlikely, and the result won't be worse, but it may not work.

On the other hand, if it is as it appears, and all goes well, you may have another tool to clean your PC.

Steve is right, it looks like a VB6 runtime error.
You could reboot and try to install again.
