    Crikey!

I've never tried truffle before. Does it have a taste that can be compared to anything a little more ... commonplace?

I'm guessing that's a daft question; how could the price be justified otherwise, lol.

I refuse to spend more than two dollars per pound for a vegetable. So no truffles for me!

    well, let's see...

    1. It is a consumable item with no inherent value, so I would pay a limited amount.
    2. It is perishable, so I wouuld pay LESS.
    3. It doesn't have a chain of custody, so I would pay LESS.
    4. It has something to do with china, so I wouldn't want to pay a PENNY!

Never mind that they are hunted by pigs or dogs in the WILD, or that I don't like fungi, etc...!

Well, they're pretty cute....but it would depend on if it was already spade or neutered because they breed faster than rabbits........
    Oh wait. That's a tribble.

Na - I can get other more nutritious related things like ****ake mushrooms much cheaper and they taste better.

"Food" is like "art". Sometimes bad taste makes people charge MORE!

I knew they were expensive but wow!
In this country we use pigs to find the truffles but they have to quick when the pigs find them otherwise they'll eat them.

I think I'd buy truffle if I was in an area famous for it, as part of the "touristy experience"
