Sometimes, I just laugh at myself!

In this life, I am very, very good at one thing. Just one thing. Making money is not it!

I started Internet Marketing just over two months ago with $550. A "friend" of mine sold me a package called "AdSense in a Box." At his suggestion I purchased 10 years worth of reseller hosting (from what turned out to be a terrible company) and a couple domain names.

When I was looking for information on how to load the site, I was informed by someone else that Google would "punish" me(?) and close my brand-new AdSense account for posting so much duplicate content... Stuff that is already posted across the web. My "friend" who sold me the package is now un-reachable.

Next I purchased an Article Marketing course. I went to work and spent most of two months getting ready, writing almost 200 articles and 3 eBooks, only to find that nobody told me my niche is really too small to be very profitable... Seems with the money I spent on his course, he could have told me that? Not to pass the blame, but for the money I spent, he might have mentioned it. (He knew what my niche was going to be.)

And next, when my articles are getting rejected from EzineArticles (which has been resolved now) another "friend" suggested that I start my own Article Submission service. So I bought this "Your Very Own Article Directory" package from him (not realizing I would have to find a way to drive traffic to that site also-- I'm completely new, remember). He also sold me a "forum" program for $15. (phbb, which I now know is actually completely 100% free.) And when I couldn't load either one of them, he was nowhere to be found.

Now with my bank account $27 over-drafted (will be more tomorrow when the fees hit-- hooray for me!)

So I sit here laughing. After all, $550 is not that much to pay for an education. I spent tens of thousands on a college education that has turned out to be perfectly useless.

And, the series of mistakes and the financial pain I am feeling right now, it has all lead me to find the Warrior Forums... I have learned more in less than a week of finding this place than I did in my two months of effort prior.

You all offer so much great information, and everyone genuinely seems to care about each others' success. I am very impressed, and very thankful. Once I'm successful, I will find a way to pay you all back.

Thanks to all of you!

    Thanks to all of you!

Hi Victor, welcome to the warriorforum. Everything you need is here. Most of it is free, and you can always ask questions.

When you get $37 ahead somehow, invest in the War Room membership. The $37 is one time and good for twenty years! Warriors put much of their best information in there, and even some WSOs in there without any additional payment.

The "stuff" you learned in college may yet become very helpful to you. It gives you subjects about which you have acquired knowledge. This comes in handy when you write articles or write your own ebooks.

College also taught you how to study and how to learn. These become helpful through out all of your life. We never stop learning. To put this another way, all successful people continue learning. So be greatful for your education.

I have never worked in the area of what I studied in college, that was over 40 years ago. And during those years I have owned a half dozen businesses - usually more than one at a time, the ability to learn never failed me, and it won't fail you either.

Man, it sounds like you need some different friends. I think you will find them here.

There is a famous "Rule 62" which says, "Don't take yourself too seriously." So I guess we all get to laugh at ourselves from time to time. Hey, I laugh at myself every day.

hiya Victor! Welcome! I too laugh at myself all the time. You can't take yourself too seriously because life is just too darn short.

Anyway, I'm glad you made it here. I think you'll learn an awful lot without spending too much more money. I echo Don's advice to invest in a War Room membership. The War Room has a ton of gems in there and they won't cost you anything.

      take care...

    Hi Victor,

Welcome to the forum. It sounds like your friends have been taking advantage of you. The first friend that recommended you buy 10 years of hosting ... did you or he click a link he provided? He may have earned a nice fat commission from you. If I were you, I'd think twice about trusting them again. Your call though, of course.

I second the idea of joining the War Room when you get a few extra dollars. The education in there is even better than on the outside, and you can grab a lot of valuable commercial info-products and software for free that non-members have to pay for.

About those articles and ebooks you wrote ... is the small niche a part of a larger niche with more searches? If so, maybe you could apply them to the larger niche with minimal work. Or write a product for the larger niche and use them as a bonus or upsell. You also might be able to turn them into a PLR package. Even really small niches can be good if the people in the niche are likely to spend money in it, especially if you can find a way to position your products in a must-have way.

    Well anyway, welcome...

Hi Victor - yeah, I laugh at myself, too. Someday I'll get rid of this mirror.

Sounds like you got off easy compared to some stories I've heard. Welcome aboard. Hopefully you'll have the hole in your boat patched real soon.

Coming here is a very good choice indeed. Welcome.
I guess you went too fast in purchasing all those stuff. Stick to this forum for some time, learn the basics. I'm sure you will make things out. The next thing you know, ten years from now you'll be laughing at your self for making all those silly mistakes above in the past

      Hi Victor!

I think it is great that you laugh at yourself, as I crack myself up on a daily basis, lol!

Anyway, people who can't laugh at themselves are usually strung too tightly and not a whole lot of fun to be around.

I wish you well, and a whole lot of success!
