How To Build The List?

Hello fellow Warriors!
I have done about 2/3rds of everything there is...But... I have neglected the list. I have one site in particular that gets lots of hits, top of the old search engine, etc. but isn't really suitable for selling, really. Trust me, it ain't. (It makes me crazy! What was I EVER thinking?? You have this product at home now in your fridge...but you'd never go online to buy it or anything that goes with it.) But it gets hits. Even the dang Adsense ads, when they rarely click, are so low cost as to make me shudder. At this rate I'll be 150 years making back my domain charge. Jeez!

So, decides I... I shall place an Aweber Form on there...For with the list comes the loot. What else you do with a site with lots of hits but not fit for selling?

I have a nice cheery Aweber form right at the top on there that has done zip, just sitting there kinda dumb like.

It says, "GREAT X MONTHLY NEWSLETTER! Join with us in celebration of the X! Receive your copy from the good old X.org folks."

I don't actually have a newsletter...but I could in a jiff if I had subscribers. It was all I could think of at the time...

It's not pulling diddly. I could sure use some advice on how to make that Aweber form more attractive...the kind of thing you can't wait to sign up for.

I suppose some kind of giveaway might be nice...but I have nothing to give. I have only the greedy outstretched hand wanting to receive. Sigh.

I know many things, as we all must, and could be helpful in many other areas, but as for list building with mail forms, I'm as dumb as a rock. Warrior, can you drop a dime's worth of tips on me?
Many and umble thankees,
Norm

And there is your problem staring you straight in the face.

It's not you they're interested in, they are only interested in themselves just like you are, in yourself.

If you switch out your negative attitude away from your own desperation telling the world, "Hey! Look at me, look at what I've got to offer you." ... To actually taking an interest in other people and what you can do for them, more progress you will make in life - period.

A list isn't there for you to constantly sell to, if you try that tactic you will without fail, fall flat on your face.

You need to concentrate on over delivering high value information...which ultimately will help your target audience greatly without selling to them.

Then just every once in a while after imparting nothing but very good information to your subscribers, about once a month you can pitch your list with an offer but don't over-do it, if you want to maintain any credibility or trust.

Remember, you can make more friends in 2 months taking an interest in other people and helping them directly than you can in 2 years screeching your lungs out telling everyone, "It's all about me."

No-one respects a desperate marketer or seller, you'd do well to remember this point.
