I don't know if it shows my age, but I will always appreciate what Star Wars did for me. It was more than a movie. Just today, I was playing the Darth Vader theme song, and walking through the grocery store. Know one knew that I was pretending to be Darth Vader as I walked. That may sound crazy, but I think some childhood fantasies are great in having a sense of what life is about.

And of course, I love reading Yoda's quotes. Here are a couple that I like:
Luke: "Vader... Is the dark side stronger?"
Yoda: "No, no, no. Quicker, easier, more seductive."
Luke: "But how am I to know the good side from the bad?"
Yoda: "You will know... when you are calm, at peace, passive. A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defense, never for attack."
"Yes. A Jedi's strength flows from the Force. But beware the dark side. Anger, fear, aggression. The dark side of the Force are they. Easily they flow, quick to join you in a fight. If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny. Consume you it will, as it did Obi-Wan's apprentice."
Any Star Wars fans? Has Star Wars helped you in your life?

Here is George Lucas talking about the Force, etc

Any film, or for that matter book or piece of art that inspires you is good for you I would say.

As for Star Wars, I remember seeing the original film (A New Hope) in the theaters and how magical it seemed.

Didn't the guy who directed the third one pass away recently?

I was 10 or 11 years old when Star Wars came out. It was pretty much a life-changing event for a boy that age. I remember going back to the theater probably 5 more times to watch it over and over with some friends. We blew through our mowing money in a hurry!

But for me, the real eye-opener wasn't a movie. It was a book: Atlas Shrugged. Anyone who has never read that needs to do it asap. Especially business owners.

Yea, I remember some kids bragging they saw it 10 times or more. There would be a conversation like this:
    I saw it twice
Well, I saw it 6 times
Well, I saw it 10 time!

At the end of the day, that's really all there is to it.

When I'm not in the Jedi Temple and a movie comes on, if the 20th Century Fox music starts my wife always has to let me know that sorry, Star Wars is not about to begin playing.
