Most annoying thing ever on forums...

I see stuff like this all the time on forums but for some reason this one really got to me...

People who are supposed to be "experts" at something asking the most basic questions about that same thing.

For example, I just saw someone with a username that was something along the lines of "seoexpert" and his signature link was to an "SEO services" website. However, this person asked what a link exchange is.

I mean seriously if you have even the slightest knowledge of anything related to SEO then you would have to know what a link exchange is. That's about as basic as it gets. I feel very sorry for anyone who pays for this persons seo services.

Ok end of rant.

That's why I always peruse the medical forums. I want to know if any of my doctors are posting, "Why do I keep killing my patients?"

Doctors are smart, though. They post under their competitors' names.

Well Brian, you just put a cuppa coffee right up my nose.

I just asked one of my doctors yesterday," Are you trying to kill me?"
He told me to go on-line and find out.

When I first joined I belly laughed at a dude asking a bunch of questions in a thread, things like "How can I make at least 5.00 per week in adsense?", and "Is 20.00 a day even possible with adsense?" ALL while his signature link was "Make 10,000.00 This Month With My Foolproof Adsense System!"

Annoying, if not tragically comic, but cats like that never usually stick around once they find out this stuff we do is REAL work and not some magic, money making, instant miracle.

Hilarious!! LOL! Those are the kinds of posters that make this forum a dangerous place for the unsuspecting newbie. They follow the advice and buy services from people who really don't know have any skill or expertise in the topic or service the are selling. SCARY!!!

    Totally agree.

Oh and I have a question, what does PPC stand for anyway? (I've always wondered)

    Excellent point!

At the same time, I like it when a supposed "guru" or somebody who is looked up to asks what appears to be a very simple question. I always enjoy that because it sets a good example. It's also smart, in my opinion, because the Warrior Forum is such a good resource for learning new things.

The key, of course, is that they were asking questions that were outside of their expertise. For example, a top copy writer asking a question about installing a WordPress plug-in.

    All the best,
    Michael

You know what I think is even worse? When someone goes into an SEO forum and asks what a backlink is. I see it all the time.

Yeah it can look ridiculous.but the with all of the outsourcing going on you get people throwing themselves into something, farming out the donkey work and then panicing when a client asks them a most basic question.

I'm one of the fools who is getting ripped off by one of these "con artists".
This guy on the "warrior for hire" forum is advertising himself as this supposed LSI content writing expert etc etc...

Got him to write one article before I placed a bulk order. It was good. I was supposed to get 10 more articles this morning but I just got an email now with 5 spun articles from the first article he wrote and now the guy has stopped responding to emails etc saying its the weekend and he needs a break!

    I HATE this...

Is there any way to tell who is who (expert or con) on these forums?
