Is my iPod the only one with a 30 min battery life?

Ok a little bit exaggerated in the title but, every time I fully charge my iPod, it takes about 30 sec of song selecting to bring the battery down to half. I've only owned one other iPod and had a short battery life as well. Does this happen to anyone else? Oh and how do you shut that annoying shake shuffle off? Its worse then skipping. You'll be walking along and the song just sporadically switches, because you forgot to turn the hold button on.

Apple products and battery life don't have the best rep. I've also had that happened to an ipod a couple years ago. Took it to the apple store and they said the battery was dead.

My MacBookPro lap top is 3 years old and now only holds a full battery charge for about 15 minutes. Less if video or music is involved. So for all practical purposes it only works if it's plugged in. And that's battery #2 in those 3 years. Apple guys said again the machine is to blame. I shouldn't have had it plugged in all the time.

    So no, you're not alone.

I have an MP3 player that, BY DEFAULT, only lasted about 5-15minutes!!!!!!! Once I figured out how to set the screen timer to turn the screen off, it started lasting more like 50 HOURS!!!!!! Seriously, I could play it like 2 days. The LCD screen just uses WAY to much power. That is why most such devices have a screen, and most have a timer SET by default.

Mine lasts forever. I can listen to it for several hours a day and it seems to go on almost indefinitely. My kids' ipods last for a long time too. *shrugs*

My son had his ipod battery replace by the techs at the Apple store when he had this issue - it was still under warranty however.

I have iPod video for 4 years already and the battery life now is about 7-8 hrs of music listening. I think it's okay.
