One of my son's dogs is a hilarious English Springer Spaniel. When they moved from the Gulf Coast to Ohio, Arby did not like the cold weather.

He had developed his own method of dealing with the cold. He would charge out of the door, across the patio and into the yard at full speed, do his business and charge right back into the house.

The first snow that year was late in coming and was a good storm leaving several inches of snow behind overnight.

My son opened the door, Arby charged out across the patio and into the yard...did his business...then froze. He literally would not move except to try to lift one foot and then another out of the snow while he whined loudly. He wouldn't even walk back to the house - my son had to carry him. For the next few days he stayed right on a path my son shoveled for him to use.

It was several snowfalls later when Arby finally started playing in the white stuff.

I had to go back and watch the video again - he's so fast and having so much fun.

How cute I can't wait to see my dog in snow. I live in the warm part of Arizona but waiting for it to get cold up north and snow ! I'll bet she could make a dog angel She is a crazy, but fun 1 11/2 year old Greyhound Lab ! What a puppy she still is. I rescued her from the pound, and so we are going through the "who the alpha dog is in the home"

Merry Christmas Everyone and a Happy New Year ! Make this next year a profitable
      one !

Oh, what a cute dog. We have two whippets, and they hate the cold. They refuse to go outside without a coat, and this is in Queensland where it just doesn't get all that chilly in winter. I love the way Whippets do zoomies.

The big issue I'm having at the moment is preventing my big black dog from melting when I take him for a run. It's hot and humid around here!

Your whippet looks to be having a great time!

My whippet Paula loves the snow too.

But, as with most whippets, shivers all the time even with her big jacket on.

She is in whelp and is being very precious at the moment not dashing off too far with the greyhounds.

This is a blog I put up about her trials and tribulations. Haven't had much time to update it recently though.

I'll be really glad when we get a thaw - no running water for nearly three weeks.

I am learning the pioneer way of life here in the countryside of Ireland.

Can't wait to return to the hustle and bustle of UK where it is a stroll to the shop rather than a four mile hike!

    Happy christmas

Oh Karen, you know you have to put up baby whippet photos when they arrive? My friend breeds whippets (she gave me our two) and I usually vaccinate her litters for her. Whippet babies are just so beautiful!!

This will be my first litter of whippets so I'm really looking forward to it.

I just hope that Paula takes to motherhood and all goes well during the birth.

I will post pictures when they arrive - Jan 25th-ish.
