Awesome share Wyatt, I had missed this one.

I was waiting for a sales-pitch for a map to that island of money he mentioned.

Not mentioning any names, but I'm not a big fan of how some people do business. Do they make truckloads of money? Absolutely. And for them, maybe that's all that matters. My priorities are a little different.

And yeah, I know, I can feel free to go on being broke, etc. Just wanted to pre-empt that response before anybody has to bother typing it.

    Thanks for the post,

Been meaning to watch that video for days now.

He's great on so many levels... a deep thinker, charismatic, GQ looks, well informed, great networker, always working...

Speaking for myself, I find it impossible to not like the guy.

I didn't care for the first part too much when he critiqued the McDonald's ad placement inside of Farmville. Actually, his reasoning was so absurd to me I couldn't finish the rest of the video.

First, he talked about how he knew absolutely nothing about Farmville, completely oblivious to the power it holds in terms of marketing and the possibility of building customer relations. Then, he said it was the "dumbest marketing campaign he's ever seen" BUT THEN goes on to talk about how Farmville get's 18 million hits PER DAY for an average visit of 15 minutes. Those numbers are mind blowing and the fact of the matter is, whether it got anyone of the couch that moment or not is irrelevant to McDonalds, the physiological effects of displaying their ad in front of that many people as they are PLAYING A GAME probably has more subconscious value than any commercial or coupon ever could.

If they cared about getting people to buy hamburgers that much, they would have used a tactic of displaying free hamburger coupons inside of Farmville - that would have gotten people to take action and go get a hamburger. Instead however, they took the smarter, and better route in my opinion by giving users the "prize" of putting the McDonalds logo all over their farm. Now...not only will you see a McDonalds ad everyday (while you're playing a game) McDonalds doesn't have to force it on you, you put the damn thing there yourself. Oh yea and any friends or family that builds on your farm, they see the ads too, that builds trust, trust brings customers. All in all, I think it was a pretty ingenious idea of McDonalds and it goes to show why guys sitting at home making videos with a webcam will never be on the forefront of marketing. That's just an opinion by the way, the guys' done way more than I have so kudos - I do give style points on the site as well.
