Hi, there are time when you copy text, and when pasted it is formated the same way and it is difficult to unformat.

how do you unformat this text?

for example:

Pawns:
the soul of chess
~ The pawns are the soul of chess. "
Esla is a statement of
theoretical principles of the great century
XVIII, Philidor.

How can this be changed to normal text i guess so i can format the paraghs/sentences?

Are you referring to text that has different font faces, styles, colors, etc? If so, then you might try pasting it without Rich Text Format (RTF). You can use TextEdit for Mac or Notepad for Windows.

You can also do things like search and replace using " " with "" to eliminate extra spaces. Sometimes you have to make a lot of passes if there are a lot of spaces. Or search for ¶¶ and turn it into ¶, etc. Use your imagination.

If I'm trying to remove all the fonts, etc. to one style, I just copy the text and past to notepad.

If I'm working with short lines and want them to run together (I think that is what you want), I put them into MS Word.

    Then a four step process:

Replace all of the dual carriage returns with a tab (a tab is just convenient)
Replace remaining carriage returns with a space
Replace all of the double spaces with a singe space
Replace all of the tabs with two carriage returns.

It usually takes me about 30 seconds or less to do.

    In your example:

    Pawns:
    the soul of chess
~ The pawns are the soul of chess. "
    Esla is a statement of
theoretical principles of the great century
    XVIII, Philidor.

    becomes

Pawns: the soul of chess ~ The pawns are the soul of chess. " Esla is a statement of
theoretical principles of the great century XVIII, Philidor.

And of course, this is a trivial example that is easier to just do by hand.

I paste into notepad and then copy from notepad to paste into my web page or destination document. Notepad strips the formatting.
