Steve, a transplanted liver is apparently one of the treatments for people with hepatitis .

hepatitis attacks the liver, hence its name(hepatic means having to do with the liver). YEAH, a transplant is the only treatment in the end, but the hepatitis can kill the new liver ALSO. I just figured the guy would be the absolute last on the list. So if a liver came up and matched him, and no better recipients were there, THEN he would get the liver. And you CAN do a partial liver transplant, but would that work ok for someone that has hepatitis?

    From wikipedia
Persistent infection can be treated with medication, peginterferon and ribavirin being the standard-of-care therapy. 51% are cured overall. Those who develop cirrhosis or liver cancer may require a liver transplant, and ]the virus universally recurs after transplantation.
