I reached out to some veteran warriors, I'm not going to name names here, and provided them with a review copy of my WSO.

For some reason they felt it was ok to take my review product, and then do nothing. These aren't noobs, these are established warriors. It makes me sad.

If you agree to get a review copy REVIEW IT!

Did YOU ask these people to review your WSO or did THEY ask you for a review copy?

If they are asking - unless it's someone so special you can't resist - don't give away your stuff.
If you "reached out" as in asked people to review it - be careful because it's not kosher and if you spammed someone's pm box to ask, you could even get whacked for it.

I have same experience too but on other forum. I gave 3 review copies to 3 well-known members, they did nothing..
Even i have sent a PM as reminder. I just let them slip away..
    Maybe it wasn't my luck..

Well, how long did you wait? Did you give them a time frame? Sometimes people are very busy but are willing to do you a favor, and it may just not be quick enough for you.
Somwetime people get burned doing these "favor reviews".
The last time I got a review copy,I ended up giving a critique, not a review. Why? Because the product was readily available ,oft repeated information, and it was obvious the writer did not have english as his primary language.
When I told him that he got angry at me,like it was my fault.
I haven't offered to review any since.

    Hi Warriors,

No, i didn't spam these warriors. They contacted me. They gave ME a timeframe for the review. I delayed launching my product by 2 days waiting!

And Kim, I would love critiques. They are far more valueable than reviews. With critiques you can adapt, and make your next venture even more successful. Want a critique copy? Haha.

Oh well. lesson learned. Thanks dudes.

      Hi Lazy,

I don't do review copies anymore Why? Review copies if they are not people who bought the product the review really means not a lot to the potential consumer being marketed to and it does need to be disclosed if they received it for free or paid.

I had some good warriors review my first wso and of course the product is awesome but that did not make any impact on the outcome of the WSO there is a lot of factors on this forum for the wso's to succeed most of which is that people see and know who you are in other words you have taken the time to build a reputation.

This last wso I put up I did not give any review copies it means a lot more if the person buys t is satisfied and can't help but comment I have had lots buy with no review no response to my emails to see how they are doing with it or if I could add anything/
Don't take it to heart I think in my first wso I ended up giving like 10 copies away

      I wish you well

Lazy, I feel for you...I've had the same thing happen to me...not here at WF, but just with some of my own "friends" before. I also love the "I promise you'll have a testimonial by XXXX" thing
And then never get it. It's all about accountability man...

I have a product that I got rave reviews for..........
Then the FCC decided to change the rules on testimonials.
My product is a skin care product and there are a million different
variables - and there is NO WAY to prove "average results".
Being an industry that the FCC probably drools on, I just had to
pull all those great testimonials off my sales page to keep on the
    safe side.

Just sayin........it's getting dangerous to ride a product on reviews
anyhow if you're in some niches.

    Ok Lazy.

I'll let the cat out of the bag for you and the rest of the thread.

The person Lazy was referring to was me.

So let me explain. I'm a very busy man and I only just got round to reading it on my only bit of time off since I got it, which was yesterday. I read it and was coming online now to leave my review.

    Then I see this.

Lazy, perhaps when you gave me the copy you might have added, that there was a restricted time limit on when I had to give my review by.

Personally I wouldn't use the method you gave out in the review copy. It's more for newbies, I have better ways of doing things.

They gave ME a timeframe for the review.
I beg your pardon? That's utter nonsense.

So why are you wasting your time on this thread?

I'd also like to add this isn't some highly expensive lucrative course. It's a 12 page book on a very simple method only of any use to newbies. I was going to PM you a number of ways to tweak it and seriously enhance it. So people could make a lot more money with it.

Would you still like me to leave a review now?

Richard, it was not directed only to you. If that was the case, I'd PM you about it. I know you're a busy guy, and if it just happened with you it wouldn't be an issue. My problem was that it happened with several people.

They did in fact give me a timeframe, you didn't. And they didn't stick to it. Simple as that.

          My comments...

The good news is that the veteran warriors probably wouldn't have purchased your product anyway (nothing against your product, but statistics would assume they probably wouldn't have). That means you didnt lose any money by giving away your product as a review. That's the good news.

What you did lose was having three reviews on your thread....hopefully you learned that next time you should set the reviews up early like giving people more time (maybe 2 weeks) to go over the product before your WSO is launched. Also, maybe next time you can reach out to more warriors in hopes that maybe half of them will get back to you. So that's also good news because now you know and can better prepare next time.

So that is the learning experience...that's a good thing.

As for me...I get asked to review products all the time. Myself and many other marketers have a lot of outside obligations of course. Luckily I don't have a family (kids, wife) or anything so my obligations are primarily running my businesses, which takes up a ton of time and I can't imagine how it would be if I did have kids etc!

With that said, I turn down a lot of reviews, accept some, and sometimes it takes me a long time to get to a a product and really review it and I'm sure I am probably guilty of letting a few slip through the cracks as well.

At the end of the day I like to fully review a product which can be up to 30 minutes or more if I am doing a skim of a product. That may not seem like a lot but on top of everything else I do, it is. So it's sometimes hard to be timely on things like this, especially when things pop up on the side unexpectedly.

So I understand your frustration in this circumstance and the frustration is warranted. Its tough to be expecting something and not get it. It's not fair either.

But the good news is that hopefully next time you will do a killer WSO with plenty of reviews from all the knowledge you learned here.

Darn, way too long of a post...gotta get back to work, signing off

This is something that you probably don't realize but...

I get PM's like this all the time "Hey Caleb, I'm launching X WSO, would you mind reviewing it?".. Sometimes in the range of 3-4 per day. I usually say "Sure, I'll try".. And they send me a copy.

At that point, if I have time, I'll probably read it, and send a review.... If I don't have time I'll try to get to it, but it just may not be possible.

Just because you send us a copy, doesn't mean that 20 other people didn't, and I among others just don't have the time to read every one
