Hello Warriors,

I'm not sure if any of you have seen the Academy Award Winning Documentary, The Cove, but if you have not, it is certainly a life changing experience to watch it. The movie also won the top film honors at last year's Sundance festival but this note is not about awards or honors.

Dolphins are currently being hunted and slaughted off the coast of Japan. Why should you care? Well, dolphins are highly intelligent sentient beings, who have been known throughout history to save human lives. They can recognize themselves in a mirror, have brains larger than humans, and have been around on this planet for approximately 55 million years...humans have only been on the planet for a few million.

It takes 11 months gestation for dolphins to carry their young and deliver them and years sometimes before a female will deliver another calf, as they nurture their babies and teach them skills they will need in the wild.

Dolphins understand almost 90 commands of the American Sign Language. Humans do not understand one word of the dolphin's language.

Dolphins have been found by researchers to have characteristics and qualities that may one day lead to better treatments for cancer and for diabetes.

Yet Japan's government issues permits each year for communities in Japan to mass slaughter up to 23,000 dolphins each year.

Here's an update on what is currently happening in Taij Japan. The 19 year old girl who is volunteering her time to cover these events so that the world knows what is happening has asked for help in getting this news out:

A Call To Action! « The Path to Protect…

It is an awful thing to view the mass genocide of a species..yet that is what is happening in Taiji. If any warrior wants to help please pass along that link and get the word out there is one way to have the Japanese government stop this senseless slaughter of dolphins----through external pressure that can only come if we spread the word.

Please help...the dolphins. As Ric O'Barry, former Flipper Trainer says, "Man is their biggest threat and their only hope".

Thank you warriors.
