Walmart Employee Trampled to Death & the Guilty Don't Give a Damn.

Some Black Friday for this guy.

I'm appalled at this shit. I caught this on the TV when I sat in the food court today at the supermarket.

Walmart Worker was trampled to death by a bunch of trash who had been waiting outside the store for it to open so they could buy their crap on sale.

When they were told it didn't seem to bother them and wanted to continue shopping.

How in the hell can you trample a person (to death) to get inside to buy some shit?

Others were injured.

Reminds of the Cabbage Patch Kids looniness I saw in a news clip from the 80s on YouTube and when I worked at a Goodwill people were always outside the store very early to get in and be the first to get their hands on the crap people dump. Never saw anyone get trampled but I was told of one instance when two women got into a cat fight over some knick knack screaming and pulling each others hair. There were some people I saw that looked like they were gonna get a heart attack if they couldn't get the crap they wanted.

The Associated Press: Wal-Mart worker dies after shoppers knock him down

Let's here it for humanity :thumbs down:

He wasn't an employee of Walmart. Just a temp from an employment agency.

I didn't realize that but it doesn't make a difference anyway he was working there that day and I bet he didn't imagine he would get heels and soles doing the death dance all over his body when he got up that morning that probably felt like just another day.

@^#$%!* pagan ass and BS holy days.

Stampeding shoppers trampled three to death about the same time last year in China. They were in a mad rush to buy discounted rapeseed oil after standing in line for hours waiting for the store to open. Shopping offline can very dangerous this time of year.

Thank goodness this is now being reported as false.

She was checked out and her and the baby are fine.

That would have made an incredibly terrible situation even more unbearable

Two shoppers killed each other in a California Toy R Us store shootout fighting over "good deals" today.

      Shootout between Shoppers

They must not have been very internet savy. They could have found even better deals online.

40,000 people showed up for free vegetables!

Platteville farm stops giveaway after crowd of 40,000 shows up : County News : Boulder Daily Camera

"Chris Miller says they expected between 5,000 to 10,000 people to show up Saturday to collect free potatoes, carrots and leeks left in the field after harvesting. Instead, cars snaked around cornfields and backed up more than two miles. About 30 acres of the 600 acre farm about 37 miles north of Denver became a parking lot. Chris Miller says they expected between 5,000 to 10,000 people to show up Saturday to collect free potatoes, carrots and leeks left in the field after harvesting. They estimate some 40,000 (FORTY THOUSAND!) people showed up! I just that organizers of these events think carefully before they proceed. Somebody could easily have been killed there as well! There are tons of stories where charity handouts ended in disaster because of poor planning.

The store may well be at fault for not having proper staff on hand to handle the crowd.

No offense, but why is it a stores responsibility to stop people from acting like rude idiots?
Seriously, where is the persomal responsibility?

I make mistakes enough in other areas not to point fingers at anyone (walmart, or the people); however, my prayers go to the families and their losses, as well as to the people who contributed. I pray that this event will touch their hearts about their actions and make them aware of the humanity that we, as a society, are losing.

Looks like the cops are looking at surveillance camera tapes and may press criminal charges against some shoppers:

Whats going on with Walmart? Any charges against them?

Both parties are equally to blame...

Don't you think they'd have to wait until Monday when the lawyers are in?

This wasn't intentional - it was stupidity. A crowd that size should never have been allowed to form just outside the doors - there should have been crowd control by hired security or by police.

Most locations have limits as to the number of people that may enter a store for fire safety reasons.

I'm sure Walmart will be liable financially - but most of the shoppers likely had no idea what was going on. I doubt they announced "someone is dead so we're closing the store".

Stores do everything they can to create a buying frenzy on Black Friday - I'd say this one went too far.

Im no lawyer but... If its there store, its there responsibility.

If someone dies inside something they are responsible for, they should be held accountable..

          That just makes sense..

Yes, and the shoppers should realize they are trampling over other human beings. Both should be held accountable.

The store may be legally responsible - they might have even launched major media campaigns to draw the crowds....but when people have become such stupid subhuman animals unable to function as humans over something as trivial as shopping they are no longer human, they are cattle and should be treated as such. This was not a fire or an emergency - it was freaking shopping.

I do not know about the laws and regulations concerning health and safefy management in America but there is international convergence in this matter, and many of the ideas on safety managment came from America.

Firstly, large corporations like Walmart must have a safefy management comittee that is in charge of enforcment of safety. It would include audits of their systmen as well as risk assessment. In an event like this, a proper risk assessment should have taken place.

As far as blame is concerned, individuals are almost never to blame. It is the system that must be blamed. The priority would be as follows:

    1. Engineering - e.g. were there adequate physical barriers for the crowd.
    2. Procedure - e.g. was the hours of sale too short and the discounts too deep to incite such a crowd.
    3. Individual - it is only after engineering and proceural controls are looked at that we settle at the individual level. e.g. were the staff adequately trained? Were the crowd warned about the dangers of serious injuries?

In my opinion, there is no way that Walmart is not liable for the death of their worker
