Just wanted to share my story about lessons learned.

To start out, I am a writer and have been for a long time, since college really. I have been doing off and on things here and there but nothing to write home about.
I recently learned about the Warrior Forum just over a month ago. I took it in read and learned as much as I could (or so I thought) I was selfishly using WF for only my benefit, learning as much as I could from everyone else's experiences and skill sets, all-the-while contributing nothing to the forum, never even introducing myself or explain why I joined.
After a week or so I realized the opportunity I had to write for other people (Not thinking so much i was helping them out as well) and make money off of it.

I began to reply to queries about writers, anyone I thought I would be qualified to do. I think my first post was a response to one. and probably 90% of the next posts were of the same nature.

Never really having been a member of a forum before, and what they were all about, I thought this was the main benefit of joining. (mistake number two.) I soon was reminded of how it was frowned upon, to suck, and never replenish. I was the slap in the face I needed.

While I was writing for Warriors kind enough to give me a shot, during the down time I decided to start reading and stop sucking. What I found when I looked around was amazing. I saw a sense of community, people who truly want to help other people out, and offers their services not only to make a few bucks, but to help out other warriors who truly were in need. I received allot of great feedback from the warriors I wrote for, there comments and suggestions seemed truly genuine.

When you just show up looking to make a few buck, its bad karma, I truly appreciate the advice and guidance I have received. I know I am a good writer, that I can offer a valuable service, but how am i perceived if all I do is take and never give. In a family and a marriage, that is a recipe for disaster, and I don't believe in divorce.

Recently I joined the war room, and It was then I truly understood what its all about. The advice the free tools and references, were truly given out to help you, and to say thanks to those who have helped them along the way.

I sincerely appreciate the humbling experiences, as well as the help and support. I will be my goal to reciprocate as often as I can for others who can benefit from my experiences, my skill sets and life lessons.

With great thanks and appreciation to all,

-Greg

Thanks for sharing, Greg. It's always good to be reminded of the basic truths of life. My own (limited) experience of the WarriorForum is of a community jealously guarding its value - which is considerable once you start giving without always expecting to get something back.

At first this is how I entered, everyone else was my competition. (I have a very bad habit of always wanting to be the best at what I do),

What I realize Is there are many many people here that want to help me reach my goals, while at the same time receive help from others, everyones goal is different and so aren't everyones needs.

We are all looking to be successful, its that on WF it seems everyone wants to do it together.

        Sometimes it takes a village.
