A newbie - my introduction

Hi everyone
My name is Janie aka WinWriter. I joined the Warrior Forum in October 2010. So far, I've been checking in quietly and learning from other's posts. I hope to add my two cents where appropriate. I live in North Texas, about 45 minutes from downtown Dallas. Despite what you may have heard, there's a lot more to Texas than barbed wire and stock shows. We also have great food, good old southern hospitality, and the Super Bowl!

I'm a mexican food fanatic and I think Queso dip should be a food group (who's with me?) I also love big, beautiful Texas sunsets and playing with my two Siberian huskies. As far as my background, I'm a former television reporter from the 80's looking to rekindle my love for writing. (I know, I know, that was a long time ago, but who's counting :rolleyes I wasn't thrilled with big station attitudes and got out of the TV biz for several years. I then pursued administrative work and, although I learned some important organizational skills, I really miss writing.

Most recently, I've written lenses on Squidoo. I'm currently learning how to write PLR (thanks to Tiffany Dow) and also studying online to brush up on proofreading skills. Hobbies? I like to sing - in the car and in the shower. I hope that one day I'll be discovered (when I'm out of the shower). In my spare time, I love to travel, bake recipes that look like the pictures, and make other people laugh. Life is way too short not to love what you're doing.
