A little something to remind you of why you love MN so much -- and why you're missing her so deeply right now:

Did you notice the heat wave moving in on Monday? I gotta go find my shorts and tank tops.

cheers,
Becky

You better get a fan. And keep the old people inside. They are prone to heat stroke.

Good point. I better get the air conditioner serviced ASAP.

LOL - from Northern California - I am freezing at 60 degrees! and its been brutally cold whine sniff here, Becky.

Hard to get any sympathy from my friends at -16 degrees!

    brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I am also ready to die if it is over 70.

And I was just feeling sorry for myself for not being back in Idaho. Now I remember why I took the winter off from the North. Maybe I should just move across to NV instead of going up.

Well that's bad news...it's just one above here and falling. We usually get your weather 12-24 hours later. So I guess the forecast of -20 for tonight is probably accurate.

    Sigh...I really don't like winter.

Alan, I still think you wussed out on us by running away. You should have stayed at least one more winter for old time's sake.

Watch out, Dennis. It bottomed out at -38 here during the night . As I write this at 6:30am, it's warmed to around -30 (balmy). So if that's any indication of what you can expect, you better get the longjohns out.

Andie -- I'll trade you your 35 for my -35.

Pat -- well, I really don't have anything to anyone who gets cold when it's 60. LOL

Sal -- I'm with you on the open spaces thing. That's why I'm sitting here in the middle of nowhere.

I'm really getting wussified now... actually had a jacket on this morning when I was walking the dogs. Brrr.

I have the side by side temps so I can see the fun I'm missing.

Alan - I don't think that video will go far with some in here. A postage stamp of grass surrounded by miles of cement isn't very enticing even with the sun showing. You just showed one reason I hate it in CA - made me wish I was in Idaho again. Guess I'll go walk the dog and look at all the trash thrown on the roads again.

Too each their own! I'd much rather spend a day in San Francisco than Idaho. I need people around me or I feel too much like the Unabomber.

        Yep same here.

Too each their own Sal. I have a beautiful family farm in the middle of nowhere in Minnesota for sale. Not a slab of concrete anywhere. I'll get you a Warrior discount.

LOL - city boys. Odd creatures they are. I tried to live with one once. I'd be half way up the side of a plateau and look down and see him on the road scraping mud off his shoes.

Well - good though. If we all loved the wilderness there wouldn't be much.

Alan - right idea but wrong state. I prefer the Great NW. Same temperatures - more altitude (and greater variety of gemstones).

No thanks. I think you're the ones who dropped this cold pocket of air on us. If you can send down a tropical breeze right about now, then we'll talk.

Definitely something the Southerners adopted from Central America. Closest I've felt to one in the NW is Chinook winds.

Nothing beats China winters, and especially the wind, and I've been to northern Alaska and Greenland. There's No where warm to go to. I often sleep in the office because its just too cold to walk to the station. A lot of others do too. Plus, no matter where you live, your apartment walls are concrete so its always cold and most heats can't beat the single pane windows. Even if you turn your heater on, you wake up with what seems to be a hang over from the dry air. People work in their huge jackets, and complain about the cold, yet nobody does anything about it.
