Who here has forgotten what people look like?

I for one have, obviously. I rarely go out much nowadays. I am cooped up in my home, doing one of these things - online surfing, writing fanfiction, making music, playing video games, or in the bed napping. I do not have a job, and will never get a job because I am unemployable. However, back when I was active in IM I was at least making money, so it didn't bother me at all. And it doesn't bother me at all now. At least I am still pursuing other opportunities to make money so that I can go out and see people again (Hint: I'm going back to donate plasma). But other than my family and best friends, I do not know what people look like anymore. So there is my society withdrawal story. Who else has forgotten what people look like?

And before you ask, yes I do have a life.

I kind of know what you're talking about. I was writing fiction, but that came to a sudden halt. It dawned on me that I don't actually know how most people live, whether in Canada or elsewhere, so it made no sense for me to represent them in stories. Representing myself in stories doesn't interest me -- there are sensory deprivation tanks for that (and, yes, I've tried them. I didn't find them very stimulating to the senses. Duh).

Why do garden gnomes smell so bad?
So that blind people can hate them as well.

Whenever I do get the overpowering urge for some human interaction I just run down to WalMart and walk around.

About 30 minutes and the urge is gone.
