No doubt some people will fall for this, be warned, it's a scam to get hold of your gmail account details.

I know it might sound bleeding obvious to some of you but no doubt a few could fall for this rubbish.

Obvious yes, but perhaps not to the inexperienced. You may have saved one or more people from a big mistake. Thanks for posting it.

      Thank you Dennis.

Same email just arrived in another Gmail account too, so it's obviously going to be doing the rounds this one.

Hopefully, no-one will fall for it.

I reported both emails to Gmail as spam.

Good idea! They can probably filter it out quickly if they're on the ball.

I think most people are getting wise to this kind of phishing by now, but some vunerable / unaware people still send the details off to these criminals and if this thread only saves a few people its worth it.

That kind of thing happenes LEGITIMATELY ALL THE TIME! You know how everyone ELSE on the planet handles it? They ask you to simply log into your account.

Email is the least secure protocol ever devised. It was created for a CLOSED network. I'm sure google would NEVER suggest using it for this purpose.
