I guess they'll be changing the name of that dealership from Webb Chevrolet to Stone Chevrolet once his lawyer is through.

I saw the story on the news this morning and thought the same thing about suing. Hope they don't get away with it because even though I am a BEARS fan, seems like the actions of a sore loser to me.

Totally stupid and immature on the car dealer's part. IMHO

I could MAYBE see a reprimand, and a STRONG request that he REMOVE the tie, because of the AREA, but being FIRED!?!?!?

Even though I am a lifelong Packer fan, I don't necessarily agree that the Dealership is totally the bad guy here. According to the article, they gave him numerous opportunities to remove the tie. Did they need to fire him? Maybe, maybe not.
What is more disturbing to me is that a business would let something this trivial get "blown up" and possibly affect future business. Just saying!

The guy has already received other job offers. The dealership is the loser here, IMO, whether the guys sues them or not.

If they company had a written dress code that specifically said "no Green Bay Packer apparell" then they have that right . Otherwise, bad call for the employer.

Hahaha but that is very funny. Being from Chicago myself I find it suprising the dealer fired him just from that. We're fans but we're not crazy!

I dunno about that. I used to be a Bears fan (Chiefs have always been my favorite team, however) until I lived in Chicago. Started listening to 670 The Score and couldn't take it anymore. I don't hate the Bears, but I could do without listening to a lot of your obnoxious fans.

That said, the guy deserved it. The Packers suck and wearing a Packers jacket to work in Chicago is lame. I know, I know......there's tons of Cheeseheads in Chicago. But still, he probably did it to stick it in Bears' fans faces and that's kinda lame?

Still love the Cubbies and Bulls, however. That won't ever change!

    Hello,
I worked in car sales for many years and I was threatened to be fired just about every other day.

If that would have happened in Liverpool wearing a manc scarf, then a sacking would have been considered a bj and a manicure compared to what lads waiting for him outside would have done to him.

I think the idiot is the one who did the firing.

But no, I wouldn't want him working for me as I don't sell cars for a living.

    All the best,

While I think it's dumb that he got fired, how stupid do you have to be to try and sell someone a $20,000 item while rubbing their misery in their face?
