So we got slammed with an additional 13 inches this morning over the already 50 inches we've had so far this season. This is my house and front yard.

I know you're all jealous of my mad shovelling skillz lol

    LOL

Charlotte, I was going to comment on your shoveling as soon as I saw the first picture, but you beat me to it. Good job!

Being a Wisconsinite, I'm no stranger to snow...or shoveling. Looks like you have more snow than we do.

    All the best,
    Michael

p.s. Forgive my ignorance, but is someone from Massachusetts a Massachusettan, Massachusite, Massachusettsavian, etc.?

I think the term you're looking for is Masshole

And thanks for the shovelling compliment lol It's the most snow I've seen in all the time I've been here. The record to beat is 60 inches in a season and I bet we're going to beat that by a mile this year!

Just so you know, I did the math, and to beat it by a mile you would need a total of 63,420 inches. Good luck!

        ~M~

        p.s. 5280 feet in a mile X 12 inches per foot + the 60 inches you would be beating = 63,420

OMGZ. If I had to shovel a mile of snow, I would die. Die, I tell you! (Although I wouldn't have to shovel ever again, because I'd be dead haha)

    Beautiful pictures Charlotte.

Over here (thankfully!!!) we don't have all that snow! But really cool pictures. Reminds me of the vacations I had in Switzerland some years ago: brief, cold, but amazing!!

Hot dayom - that's some MAJOR snowage.

And we thought we had it bad, here in the UK, just before Christmas.

Compared to that, ours was little more than mere covering of frost.

EDIT: See here for pics. (Pathetic, by comparison, huh? )

I was visiting family in December in the UK and just missed it. My parents got stuck out there when Heathrow closed for 3 days in a row. Lucky them huh?

You're in Yorkshire right? Do you know the town of Goldthorpe? It's my family's name (Not mine any longer)

I am indeed in Yorkshire. Hull (East Yorkshire) to be precise - not exactly one of the nicer parts, unfortunately.

        Goldthorpe, eh? Very "bling bling".

I've heard of the place ... it's only about 50 miles from here, but I don't think I've ever been there. When I head out, I usually head north, to the moors and stuff. S'where it's at!

              YUCK!

How can you stand the heat?

72F is bearable, but anything more than that gets to be too warm for me.

              VIVA LA SNOW!!!

              All the best,

You'd love it over here in San Francisco. 50-60's in the winter. 70's in the summer (so I'm told... still a newbie so no summers here for me yet). When I was here last summer checking it out there were a few days in the 90's which I guess is rare and people here were melting.

In Minnesota we get both extremes. Sub-zero temps during winter but in the summer it gets hot and humid.

Charlotte - those are some mad shoveling skills. In Denver we haven't gotten really any snow maybe 7-10 inches total. I just got a snow blower this year and was really excited to use it and only had one storm that was worth it.

When it rains... it pours. When it snows... You shovel. or something like that.

    Cheers
    Jason

Wasn't it Mark Twain that said "Coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco"?

Snow? Absolutely love it. Spent 20 years in snow country, worked seven nights a week driving a 200 mile route.

Locked the hubs in October and unlocked them in April.

Best time in a snow storm is middle of the night, no traffic
and the snowplows rarely get in you way.
