Space Shuttle Challenger Explosion: 25 Years Later, A Still Painful Wound

    I remember that day.

I was in the Navy stationed in Guam. I worked in an Avioncs shop and when I got in to work, one other guy was there and had the radio very loud, standing there listening. I hadn't heard about the explosion yet (I did not have a TV when I was stationed there). I stood there along side, listening. Glued to the radio - staring at it actually, like it was a TV.

About an hour passed and I turned around to find our entire shop standing behind me listening too. I didn't even hear them come in.

Eventually someone brought in a small TV and we crowded around that for a few hours. We didn't work that day.

    Very sad indeed.
