Funny Tina ... I'm with you on that. I'd be happy to send my snow to you too, Sheryl, if only I could.

On the other hand, it was kind of fun having it today. My youngest daughter and her hubby and a couple of their friends entered a snow sculpting contest to raise money for the Humane Society. They carved out a brick wall with the Madagascar Penguins in front of it. By the time they painted it, it looked darn good.

They won 3rd place, and gave the money back to the Humane Society. In fact, everyone that won gave the money back except the first place winner. I wonder if it will be harder for that team to win next year?

Oh that would be fun doing snow sculpting, I would love to just build a snowman. I haven't seen snow since I was 5 years old when I lived in Scotland.

Oh well, I do like the heat, I just like it much better when I have air conditioning. It's going to be a scorcher tomorrow too but the kids are back to school tomorrow so I have our one fan to myself

OUCH. Here in the Deep South (United States), we very rarely get a good snowstorm, so I don't have much to send you. However, I will NOT exchange snow for that blistering triple digit heat. I can't stand it.

I will gladly go up North, however, and send you a ton of snow your way. Just inform me on what snow transporter to use.

couldn't handle that!!!

When we left to take the kids to school this morning at 8:15 it was already 36 degrees or 96.8 degrees F. Today's maximum was 43 degrees or 109.4 F.

Our minimum over night last night was 28 degrees or 82.4 F

I don't mind the heat but not to this degree, this is just too hot, especially with a broken air conditioning system

That's bad.. lol! I tend to get restless somewhere in the mid 30s.. And what's the point of importing snow? Ice tends to melt pretty quickly at 42 Degrees (Finally! Someone who talks in degree celsius! LOL!).

Not sure Kay, my husband was going to have a look at it but it's just too hot to get up onto the roof to do it. He seems to think that it's reached it's life time usage and we need a new one and being a ducted unit they cost in the thousands for a new one so we really can't afford a new one just now.

I'm hoping he's wrong and it is something minor that can be repaired.

Audrey sleeping is terrible when it's this hot isn't it. My kids couldn't sleep last night, my 8 year old was awake til about midnight. Poor kids are off to school today and they are going to be exhausted by the time they get home. But at least the school is air conditioned

Hey Sheryl, is it humid in Australia? Trying to sleep in 80+ degree temp without AC is tough but with a humid, high dew point that makes it even worse!

You could always stick your head in the freezer to get the snow/cold winter effect.

  The humidity here depends on how far north you live.
  
  Melbourne is 500 miles south of Sydney and has less humidity. Brisbane is 500 miles north and I find the humidity more than I can bear, so I opted to live in Sydney.
  
  Further north than Brisbane, such as Cairns and Townsville in north Queensland, they get tropical levels of humidity, along with tropical cyclones.
  
  However, for 9 mths of the year, the weather is beautiful, and the humidity in Sydney is low to moderate. Spring and Autumn are delightful and Winter is mild. I haven't seen snow for many years and that was only because I went to the mountains for a feeble attempt to ski.

I can empathise, Sheryl. The air conditioner in our bedroom is broken too, so it's darned hard to get a decent night's sleep at the moment. Humidity is up past 80% and temps are in the high 90's Fahrenheit. My treadmill is in a room that only has a fan, and it's like a sauna when I go for a run on it.

How does that famous Aussie poem go?

Pretty scary. But not quite as scary as a cyclone.

Or the heat you are getting. I simply couldn't cope. And with no air conditioner, I can't image how you deal with this! I'd happily send you some snow if it would help. However, I think it would turn your area into a giant steam bath with that kind of heat!

Alan it's not humid where we are, we are in South Australia. Although I actually don't mind the humidity, I prefer it to be humid than the hot dry heat.

Val send as much as you can but can you please insulate it well so it doesn't just melt as soon as it hits our atmosphere

  I actually LOVE the cold and snow. When I was working up in Northern Canada, we saw many -50 degrees (Celsius) It really is refreshing.

One year I returned from a 6 months stint in the UK and went for a walk along the sands of Bondi Beach, in Sydney. However, I'd forgotten about the difference in climate as I'd grown used to the gray, overcast skies and softer sunlight I'd experienced in England.

After 15 minutes of paddling in the surf and walking along the sand, I was red raw! Previously, I would have worn a cap along with a heavy doses of sun screen but I'd forgotten to take these everyday precautions.

Still, the soreness I felt over the next few days were a reminder to make a quick re-adjustment to my thinking.

  Yes Queensland got hit last night by the biggest cyclone to ever hit Australia. Thankfully it moved a little South about an hour before it hit so the biggest city in it's path didn't get the full brunt of it like first thought.
  
  No deaths or injuries reported as yet, they had very good evacuation systems in place. It's still very early though and they haven't really had a chance to get out and survey the damage as yet.
