I am just sharing to share.

I came upon someone today who was "begging" for visitors to his site - literally - with the words "I neeeeeeed help". I went to the site (I will not post it here because I am sure it is against the forum rules). WOW! Basically, the person put up a few "autoblogged" articles and a TON of products.

There was TONS of misspellings - oh yeah "artical" marketing and "vedio" marketing. He also added some pay "screenshots" which were clearly fake! Really bad design, etc.

I guess people think they can put up a crappy website and then try and tell people how they make $1000 a day.

Just amused!

Its just like anything else. 20% of the people in any given field suck and need to reconsider their life choices. 5% make 80% of the money.

There's always people that are expecting to make millions overnight without putting in the needed effort, or they think they can trick other people. I just try to ignore them.

I wonder if he was using "artical" marketing to drive traffic to his site! --Mike

I'm constantly amazed at misspellings and bad grammar. I totally lose interest and respect for a product or person that can't write properly.

I tend to agree. I often have difficulty making sense out of some of the poorly worded content I run across. Spelling is obviously not a dominant trait passed on to younger generations.

As an "old guy" I remember when schools taught spelling and english was the primary (only) language until you were in high school and took a "foreign" language as an elective. I recall weekly spelling tests, at least in 8th grade or below, and an emphasis on the written word in high school english.

I do believe the current situation has a lot to do with environment. I currently live in Hawaii, and though I've been here less than 12 years, I occcasionally find myself slipping into some of what I call the "local idiom".
This is probably the most racially diverse state of the union, and you can see the influences everywhere. However, when it comes to the spoken word, it appears that at least some people intentionally butcher the language for one reason or another. The very concept of being able to conjugate a verb is beyond many, at least to hear them speak. I don't even want to look at the written word.

Now, even given the variety of backgrounds and experience, anyone that is trying to make money in any venue that requires written communication should at least have someone else proof-read their content before unleashing it on the world. It's an easy step, and makes a huge difference in how they are perceived.

Given that the internet is a worldwide forum, I don't necessarily expect that someone that has english as a second language will be as proficient as a native english speaker, but what really gets me is the sheer number of americans that don't seem to be able to write or spell (or at least don't take the time or care to make corrections).

The spelling errors I was referring to were not even in the content - but the actual navigation menus!

Besides, I don't understand how someone can claim to make $1000 a day when it is so completely obvious he just threw the site together to try and sell affiliate marketing products. There had to have been over 10 products just on the first page sidebar! LOL Anyhow, just funny!

Julie, nothing wonder… there’re many internet markers (or…….) think money is only destination. Why these guys don’t think to go forward through own creativities, and talents? (or at least to develop them)

    My advice,

Continue with something own and save your haughtiness.

Hi guys, this is my first post/reply

it really infuriates me the lack of spelling and grammar these days, i dont know if these people THINK they can do it or just try to "get by" but definitely bad spelling on ANY public domain will have me scrambling for the "close window "x"" in a shot.

On the plus side and dont get me wrong I'm not even sure how to conjugate a verb but at least i know how to spell it (not having a go there btw just saying) and to that end i would be more than willing to proof read anyones text for a small fee or reciprocation

So what do you think for my first post? any good?

I hate to bust your bubble, but technically you still haven't made your first post. Posts in the Off Topic Forum don't add to your post count.

    Hey Team,

I have to say that im not actually the best person in the world at writing and spelling BUT it doesnt stop me from earning a living online.

I do make mistakes but mostly i get them pointed out to me before anything goes out. The other thing is though..... If there is a guy just putting up a blog and dropping in load of affiliate products he isnt just BAD at SPELLING i would say he is pretty BAD at SELLING too.

Then begging for traffic? Thats just wrong and sad at the same time.

(The guy needs help with everything...SPELLING isnt his biggest problem)

I always genuinely focus on Helping as oppose to selling, it might be me BUT i find helping is a much easier task than selling. I dont know how or why and i know that many would argue that it is the same thing BUT if helping is in my head i tend to be successful BUT if selling is in my head i DO NOT get the same results.

I guess it really depends how you come across, i think more people will purchase if they feel they are being helped as opposed to sold to. (obviously depending on the product etc)

So anyway.... How many spelling mistakes have i made?

& more importantly (to me anyway) did i make a point or decent contribution regardless of the spelling mistakes?

    Thanks

The quality has dropped lately and will continue to drop in my opinion and there is very little we can do.

The sharp increase in "Newbie makes [Insert Whatever Number You Like Here] in 5 minutes" is in my opinion the cause.

Why? Because a lot of these guides tell newbies to market to the make money crowd and they don't have the slightest clue what they are doing. Quick rehash of information that never worked and sold to various people at $7. It really is tragic.

The whole market place is filled with inexperienced marketers trying to sell something because they needed money yesterday and whilst I commend them for taking some action (as many do not even bother) I can't help but feel there time could be spent elsewhere...

What happened to the business people who don't care if they earn nothing tomorrow if they are doing good business in the long term.

If you look at the trends in Internet Marketing the ones that do well are the ones who spend time learning for a good couple of months (usually trial an error) and then sit down and work to a long term goal.

Too many people do not care about offering quality. They buy articles from low quality writers, do the whole lazy autoblogging thing and cheapen the whole concept of making a living from home.

The point is the standards you set are the standards you get and if you are below standard then you will be left in the dark with the 95% of other marketers who purchased a $37 get rich quick scheme.
