Here we go!

A fun snow game for you all.

I will start.

And know what I write is true...

We have so much snow that I could not open the front door this morning.

How much snow do you have?

    Where do you live?

Where I am NOW, we have so much snow that, the week before last, it was the only state in the US to not get snow. At my home, by contrast, it snowed so much that my walkway was level with my lawn, about 3" or so. I don't know about the snow there now, but I have a covered porch that is several feet high, and about 4'+ deep, so we would have to have a VIOLENT storm with perhaps a foot or more of snow before it would be possible to block the door.

The first storm we had this year was a lot worse.
That storm had a lot of wind so I had a 4 ft. drift on my backdoor.
These two storms dropped around a ft. but with no wind, so not a big deal.
I'll be going out to shovel for the third time in 24 hrs. soon.
I figure it's just good exercise

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) has ordered utilities to begin rotating outages to compensate for a generation shortage due high usage in extreme weather. Rotating outages are controlled, temporary interruptions of service designed to ease the load on the electric grid. To see recent reports on the grid load, click here.

Which means I got a call from the school.....they are having early dismissal and closing 3 hrs after they opened. who needs snow days?!?

Steve, I'm on a mountain in Vermont.

Now we have so much snow that a giant drift is in front of one of the doors blocking our way out and it is as high as my waist. In comparison, I was able to step out this door yesterday and it was level to the ground.

We have so much snow, I went out shoveling for 10 minutes and made about 2-3 feet of progress around the door.

We have so much snow, even the snow plow is not bothering to come up here.

Thom, I thought everyone knew beer in Canada is brewed with
water from melted snow in the 'Spring Runoff'.

Its renown strength and taste is attributed this particular water source and
the particulates introduced by humans and animals going about their
            outdoor business.

            Happy tasting,

            Ken

This is one (of many) of my favorite places to ride to Ball Mountain Lake

OH, my snow home is basically elevated on flat land, so I don't have to worry so much. If you are below the top of a mountain, ALL BETS ARE OFF! 8-( I HAVE had times when I really couldn't move my car, because I have like a foot of snow. When the driveway ices over(so much ice it is DANGEROUS, but not enough snow for traction), the neighbors may think I am crazy!

I lay down a path of TOWELS! They are easy to work with, adhere OK, because of the water, and can create TRACTION! I then walk to my car, collecting the towels, and drive off. Later, if need be, I can reverse the process. YEAH, I could use salt or sand, but they could hurt the driveway, etc... I probably have the best one that hasn't been replaced yet.

I often leave my car outside of my garage because of some unusual circumstances.

And you have to remember, a trip/fall for a person, like me, that takes warfarin, could be DISASTROUS!

I remember snow that deep. When I lived in Burke canyon just outside of Wallace, ID that is what yearly snowfall looked like. Where I grew up in Michigan as a kid we used to get three feet at a time at least once or twice a winter - and in the Colorado mountains our only saving grace is that we were on main roads to international ski resorts so they kept the roads open at all costs. From the main roads the back roads were cleared by townspeople with blades on their rigs.

That kind of snow can be fun if you can get to where the traffic is sitting - we used to walk the line of cars that would get stopped when the pass would shut down and sell hot chocolate, coffee, food, chains, etc.

It's bizarre how much I miss snow ins right now.

My porch is about 6ft off the ground for your reference.

The branch is also 6ft up on the tree.

    Arctic Tundra? Oh, yes.

Towels Steve? Kitty litter and sand. If you are going to live where it snows, you want a good supply of both.

Might I ask what makes you think some of of us in snowbound lands have NOT gone crazy? Hmft!

Most of our public transportation systems are delayed, big time. Local plow companies are breaking their equipment trying to keep up with demand. Huge snow mountains are blocking public parking areas. Vehicular travel of any type is delayed, because of said snow mountains. Locals are talking about the worst set of winter storms since the 1930's.

        Who said I wasn't mad???

Ok, I managed to tunnel out and have jumped into NY just in time for the new storm coming tomorrow.

I'd give you all some photos but need to get some new batteries for the camera first. Maybe tomorrow.
