Go on, laugh all you want, but I LOVE THIS SONG.

Heck, I wish I wrote the damn thing.

Enjoy!

ok, you're on, I am laughing.
I find her to be without talent, along with lohan and simpson.
Great for prepubescent kids but I'm amazed an adult actually listens to her drivel.
But since you have posted some great stuff in the past, this slip up can be forgiven!

Life is not a sprint, its a marathon. A bad start does not really matter too much

No, I'm not. I'm a songwriter. And if you really listen to how well this song
was crafted, musically, lyrically, harmonically and arrangement wise, you'll
see, despite that it's Britney Spears, that this is a very well written and
        arranged song.

Sometimes you have to see beyond the glitz to find the true shining star.

Spears and other Pop-diva products always have
production geniuses pulling the strings. I don't
feel it's accurate to say the music sucks - because
the people who are actually doing the music part of
    it are world-class talented.

They just went for the big money as opposed to
obscurity in Jazz or other low-profit genre. No
different from Spielberg really - he gives people what
they want - even though he's capable of creating
real, moving art he wouldn't be nearly so influential
if he only made films like "Schindler's List" and "Amistad".

Thanks Loren. I was starting to think I was the only one who heard
the talent behind this ditzy kid.

Don't confuse being able to make something commercial with talent.
But we love you anyway Steven

Ah, but making something commercial is a talent.

I'd like to consider myself a fairly discriminating person. There are some
musical genres that I just can't listen to at all. I won't mention them
because I don't want to piss anybody off, but when I hear a melody that
I can sing and a lyric that makes me go, "Clever" then to me, that's talent.

I guess to each his own.

I play very uncommercial music for fun.. but I admire
pop craftsmanship a lot. The skill to write those deceptively
simple "bubblegum" hooks and choruses is one only
1 in 1000 songwriters can get a grip on.

I played latin music for years and believe me, if I had
a clue at how to transfer that vibe over to English-language
songs... well, believe me - I would be having a lot more
fun playing music than I have typing marketing drivel.

...and it's Latin music that fuels many of the pop phenoms
    of today.

    Why?

Because the girls like to DANCE!

...and when the girls dance everybody has a good time.
