New Idea: Collaborative Art
Hey, folks.
I've got another idea I wanna ask you about. I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this idea, though, because I don't think this falls under the usual online-marketing heading. If this isn't the right place to ask about this, perhaps one of you could direct me to the right place.
What I'm thinking of doing is something akin to Deviantart, but with a more collaborative nature. I want a site where artists can meet each other and work together on projects. I also want this to be a site where non-artists who have ideas for art can commission artwork. I want people to have the option to have their works repurposed into T-shirts, posters, mugs, etc. (I think maybe working with Cafepress would be good for that, unless one of you has a better recommendation 'cause I've heard some criticisms of the quality of Cafepress' work.) I also, of course, want each pair or group of artists to have a gallery to display their work.
That's the gist of what I wanna do. Any advice on how to go about accomplishing this. Is this a pretty tall order for a beginner? Should I par it down to something simpler and build on it later?
