Kinda stuck, looking for some input...

Hi folks...very new here; I've only made a couple of posts, mostly I've been browsing around.

I'm doing the Article Marketing 101-2 and Keyword research to get yet another angle on what I've been doing for the last three years.

But I keep running into a kind of wall with my site, not knowing what the heck to write about next because of the industry. I say I make bookmarks, people look at me funny - like, how to do you do that?

Okay, so here's the thing, my site was originally part of a previous site that I sold in December. The bookmarks were a spin-off site and I branched out to do custom bookmarks for other events besides just weddings.

I've now built my site out to around 55 pages of combined content and products. My site's finally reached a PR2 with an Alexa rank of 570,011 as of today. I've actually made two new sales in the last couple of weeks and two inquiries (one of which I really hope I get - for 1,000 bookmarks!).

I have between 50 and 75 articles live each on Ezines, GoArticles, ArticlesBase, etc., etc. But they're mostly all about weddings because of the previous site, although they all also contain links to my bookmarks site.

Now when I sold my former wedding planning site this past December, I signed a non-compete agreement with the new site owner, meaning, I won't write about wedding planning because that would be in direct competition with the buyer. And I'm sick and tired of writing about weddings anyway, which is why I sold the site.

So my question is this, by doing article marketing, what the heck can I write about now? How many ways can you talk about "party favors" or funeral and memorial bookmarks?

I'm really at a loss, and even PLR isn't springboarding any ideas for me lately.

I took a couple of weeks off of article marketing to concentrate on getting some nice anchor links from some PR3+ sites. But I keep coming back to article marketing because that's what's always worked. It was what got my other site up to making me about $150/month steadily.

I brought the bookmarks from an Alexa rank of about 705,000 to the 570,000 in less than a month - primarily with article marketing, and I'm afraid if I stop, the site will start slipping because party favors and wedding favors are an extremely competitive niche.

So does anyone have any suggestions? I really, really need this site to keep moving up. My goal is to have at least one $100 sale per day average within the next couple of months but I just keep running out of things to write about.

Thanks!

Hi ksmusselman: You might do better posting this in the main forum - many of the article marketers frequent the main forum and would probably have some good suggestions for you. Your topic is directly related to the main forum as it is about making money online with your website.

This forum is more laid back. People come here to kibbitz, tell jokes, relax and just hang loose.

You might also want to consider joining the War Room forum after you've visited the sub-forums on this site and have a better idea of what goes on around here.

The War Room forum is well worth the investment of $37 for a lifetime membership.

Yes, the other sections (upstairs) will bring more solid responses/suggestions...

frankly, you don't write about 'party favors'.........you write about other things that may include the subject. birthdays, valentines day.........nearly every month has an 'occasion'......every occasion needs celebrating, and celebrations need favors, no?
Don't know if that helps or not, but broadening your view can bring on 'different' approaches to your more subtle 'topic'.

    good luck to you

Thank you both very much! I'll repost this to the main forum and I'll also seriously consider the $37 investment as soon as it's financially feasible.

Can't you write about any big event, such as:
    birthdays
    baby births
graduation: grade school, high school, college, barber school
    Christmas/Holidays
    Anniversaries

It would seem bookmarks could also be great for business giveaways...The local pizza shop could give away bookmarks with their menu/contact info on them.

Hi Kurt. Yes, I guess I could but without getting into the planning and such. I guess I can write up some small tips. Actually that might be a good way to get some more "high ticket" reciprocal links too.

Back to the PLR I guess!

      Thank you!!
