This is, IMO, a fun little game that I think you'll enjoy.

The best way to explain how it's played is with an example:

William Holden was in a 1950 movie called "Sunset Blvd." In that movie was
another actor named Fred Clark.

Fred Clark was in a 1957 comedy called "Don't Go Near The Water." In
that movie was an actor by the name of Glenn Ford.

Glenn Ford was in a 1974 made for TV Movie called "The Disappearance of
Flight 412" In that movie, there was an actor by the name of Guy Stockwell
who just happens to be a cousin of my wife.

** OKAY HERE IS WHERE I SCREWED UP ** LOL

So let's try again

Guy Stockwell was a guest star on TJ Hooker from 1982, which starred William Shatner

William Shatner was in the TV series Boston Legal from 2004. In that series was an actor
by the name of Mark Valley

Mark Valley is currently in the TV series Human Target.

** THERE...FIXED LOL

We don't realize how the time line of life really does connect the
generations until we look at things like this.

Truth is, I could have gone all the way back to the 20s and built a time
line to the present.

Think of some of the great shows of our time (depending on how old you
are) that had great stars from a previous generation on it.

I Love Lucy with Harpo Marx

More recently

Hot In Cleveland with Carl Reiner...50 years after "The Dick Van Dyke
Show."

We've woven a tapestry of entertainment that, when you look at it
closely, is truly amazing.

Is Guy Stockwell the same as Dean Stockwell? Or did Guy appear on only a few episodes?

    Just curious.

    All the best,

Sorry Michael, that was a typo. It's Dean Stockwell. Guy Stockwell is
      no relation to my wife.

Okay, I have to redo the whole thing because Guy Stockwell WAS in the
TV movie but NOT in Quantum Leap.

Only I can f*ck up my own game.

        LOL

No problem. I wasn't trying to be a wise guy. I actually was hoping to learn something new. You definitely know way more about TV and movies than I do.

I always enjoyed Dean in Quantum Leap. With all due respect, didn't he pass away not too long ago?

Actually, I just found out from Kim that Dean and Guy were brothers, which
means he's related to my wife as well. She just realized this herself and
we're having a good laugh here.

Guy died in 2002. Dean is still living.

Okay, let's try another one...going back to the 30s.

Clark Gable was in the 1939 film "Gone With The Wind" In that movie,
believe it or not, was a very young George Reeves who played one of the
            two brothers, Stuart Tarleton.

George Reeves played Superman in the 1952 TV series. In that series
the guy who played Inspector Henderson was Robert Shayne.

Well, and this is something very few people know, Robert Shane had a non
speaking role in the 1971 TV Series Columbo. No, you won't even find it
in IMDB. And if you miss the first 2 minutes of the episode, you'll miss him.
He ends up as the murder victim. Well, the star of Columbo was Peter
            Falk.

Peter Falk ALSO had an uncredited role in 1981s "The Great Muppet Caper"
He played a tramp. In that movies was an actor by the name of John
            Cleese.

John Cleese was in the 2002 movie "Harry Potter And The Chamber Of
            Secrets" which stars Daniel Radcliffe.

Daniel Radcliffe was in the most recent Harry Potter Film Deathly Hollows
Part 1 and will be in the next film to come out this year.

Who knows where this generation will lead. But we've tied him all the way
            back to 1939.

Call me strange, but I find this stuff truly fascinating.

One more before I call it a night.

James Cagney was in the 1938 movie "Angels With Dirty Faces" which is
probably one of his most famous roles. In that movie was Leo Gorcey.

Leo Gorcey was in the 1951 movie, "Bowery Battalion" as one of the
Bowery Boys. In that movie was Huntz Hall who played Satch.

Huntz Hall had a guest spot on the TV series "Different Strokes" from 1982.
In that series, Molly Ringwald made 2 guest appearances.

Molly Ringwald appeared on SNL in 1998. That year, Will Ferrell was part of
              the cast.

Will Ferrell appeared on 30 Rock in 2010.

The show is still on today and who knows what up and coming future
big stars will end up appearing on it before it goes off the air.

And with that, I'm calling it a night.

I know this is not the soon-to-be famous "Wagenheim Connect The Generations" Entertainment Game, But I just wanted to mention something sort of related...

If you want to watch one single older television series that presents more rising actors who later went on to considerable fame watch, Rod Serling's 'The Twilight Zone'.

I'm simply amazed by how many actors he was showcasing in those episodes who went on to become tv stars.

Example: William Shatner,(star trek etc etc) Donna Douglas,(beverly hillbillies) Jack Albertson,(Chico & The Man) Johnathon Harris (Lost in space), Jack Weston, (many movies), Jack warden (movies like The Verdict), Dick York,(Bewitched)
Martin Balsam, Martin Landau (Mission Impossible), Ed Wynn, Cliff Robertson, Lee Marvin, Inger Stevens, Burgess Meredith, Jack Klugman (Odd Couple) and many more.

There are many I'm missing, but its a great series. The stories ain't half bad either.

Yes Bruce, Twilight Zone was a showcase for a lot of great soon to be
      actors.

Outer Limits did as well. David McCallum, Donald Pleasance, Martin Landau,
Robert Duvall and so many more.

Morning all...thought I'd start my day with another one.

James Stewart was in the 1946 classic "It's A Wonderful Life." Also in that
movie was a guy by the name of Ward Bond who played Bert the cop
along side Ernie the cab driver. Yeah, that's where they came from.

Anyway, Ward Bond just happened to play Major Seth Adams in the 1957
TV series Wagon Train. The star of that series was a guy by the name of
Frank McGrath who didn't have much of a career after that...

But... did appear in the movie comedy "The Shakiest Gun In The West" from 1968. The star of that movie was Don Knotts.

Don Knotts went on to play Ralph Furley in the TV series "Three's Company"
starting in 1979. The star of THAT show was of course John Ritter.

John Ritter had a guest appearance on the TV show Wings in 1996. The
Star of THAT show was Tim Daly.

Tim Daly is currently the star of "Private Practice."

And there you have your "Connect The Generations" for this morning,
        Tuesday, February 22, 2011.

Stay tuned for tomorrow's "Connect The Generations" puzzle.

Here's your "Connect The Generations" puzzle for today except I'm doing it
a little different today. I'm starting with 2011 and working my way back.

Aidan Turner is in Being Human, 2011 which also stars Russell Tovy

          which also starred Ralph Richardson

Ralph Richardson was in the 1972 movie "Tales From The Crypt" which also
          starred Joan Collins.

Joan Collins appeared as Edith Keeler in the classic Star Trek episode "The
City On The Edge Of Forever" in 1967 which of course starred William
          Shatner as Captain Kirk

William Shatner appeared in the classic Twilight Zone episode "Nightmare
At 20,000 Feet" from 1963 which also starred Christine White.

Christine White made an appearance on the Frank Sinatra Show in 1957
which of course starred Frank Sinatra.

Frank Sinatra was in the 1955 musical "Guys And Dolls" which also starred
          Marlon Brando.

Marlon Brando was in the 1951 classic "A Streetcar Named Desire" which
          also starred Vivien Leigh.

Vivien Leigh played Scarlett O'Hara in 1939s "Gone With The Wind" which
          also starred Clark Gable.

Clark Cable was in the classic 1934 comedy "It Happened One Night" which
          also starred Claudette Colbert

Claudette Colbert starred in 1927s "For The Love Of Mike" which also
          starred Ben Lyon.

Ben Lyon starred in the 1921 silent film "The Heart Of Maryland" which also
          starred William Collier Jr.

William Collier Jr. starred in the 1916 silent film "The Bugle Call" which also

In 1937 Mae West said, "Is that a banana in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?"

In 2011, I have a banana in my pocket.

Sorry, it's the best I could do...

Here's a quick one before I call it a night.

Greer Garson was the star of 1942s "Mrs Miniver" In that movie also starred
      Walter Pigeon.

Walter Pigeon played Dr. Morbeous in one of my favorite Sci Fi's, "Forbidden
Planet", in 1956. Also in that movie, starred Leslie Nielson.

Leslie Nielson starred in the hilarious 1980 classic movie, "Airplane". Also in
that movie was an actor by the name of Peter Graves.

Peter Graves reprised his role as Jim Phelps in the 1988 short lived
"Mission Impossible" series. Also in that series was an actor by the name
      of Thaao Phenghlis.

Thaao Phenghlis appeared on the soap "Days Of Our lives" until 2009.
During that time, an actor by the name of Peter Reckell played the
famous role of Bo Brady and still does to this day.

See you tomorrow with more "Connect The Generations".

      Nite all.
