Affiliates Not Delivering Promised Bonuses....

Seems to be a growing trend lately: Affiliates all making great promises of fantastic bonuses to get you to buy the latest greatest launch through THEIR link...and then try to collect your bonus....

Over the past couple of months - we've bought 3 different new products - nothing expensive, and all 3 of the products turned out to be good solid stuff, and we were pleased with the purchase...BUT we also made sure we made the purchases through a specific affiliate because we also wanted the bonus.

NOT ONE OF THE THREE AFFILIATES DELIVERED THE BONUS! Not one of the three has ever even responded to repeated emails, and to make it even worse - the product owners did not respond either!

In fairness - I have not contacted the latest product vendor yet - but I will tonight.

What makes the most recent purchase so interesting is that both the vendor and the affiliate are Warriors - and yes, I pm'd the affiliate several days ago and have had no response.

And yes - they have actually run WSOs here...and I hope they offer better service to their WSO customers.

What's sad is that these people are making false promises to get the commission and not delivering - and probably taking a sale away from an HONEST AFFILIATE!!

Not to mention the FTC, getting their CB account banned etc.........

It's no wonder they were offering such great bonuses - they had no intention of delivering..........

You can offer whatever you want in that case!

what type of affiliates? I mean if you purchase from someone respected on the niche you should get your bonus right after your purchase, I think you purchased from unknow people who just want your money and make easy sales offering to good to be true bonus

The issue is the affiliates that offer bonuses in addition to those of the product owner.

In those cases you have to email a receipt or proof of purchase before they will email you the bonus.

I would personally contact the product owner and let him know about shady affiliates promoting his products, and if they didn't care to respond either I would promptly ask for a refund.

I do realize that a product owner cannot do a whole lot to get you the bonus, but the response they give could give you an indication if they really care about you beyond the dollars you give.

Barring that you could threaten FTC contact. It is quite possible that you aren't the only complaint.

The sad part is that in the first two cases - the vendor was contacted and never bothered to respond. Haven't contacted the latest one yet but am going to today - was honestly trying to give the Warrior a chance to respond to my PM here - but it has been 4 days and obviously they are not going to respond.

And yes, at this point - I am really tired of this kind of marketing and intend to pursue it fully.

Hunting those jerks down and be a pain in their derrieres can be satisfactory. Believe me, I know. But - the question is if it is the best use of your time though...

In some cases it is more effective to just scream a few choice words to your computer screen and then continue with the next task in hand instead...

oh trust me - I can spare a few minutes a day for these chaps ;-)

And to be honest - I really am tired of the lack of ethics online. I've been self-employed for almost 3 decades now, and have been in various industries were ethics rarely employed and I championed the cause then too - I've just been kind of complacent in IM.

But over the past year, I have probably been ripped over more than in the last decade....and a number of the purchases were WSOs or 'well-known' Warriors.

If we all decide to ignore these issues because our time is too valuable - the situation will only get worse - and that jeopardizes us all.

No - I DID not purchase from 'unknown' people - and as I stated in my OP - the last one was a Warrior who has actually run a couple of fairly successful WSOs, and the bonus offer was of at least as much interest to me as the product I was buying.

I know the name and shame game isn't what this forum is about. But there are some situations where I believe it to be beneficial.

Especially when there is hard evidence to back it up (which I'm guessing you have).

I'm not talking about ganging up on those marketers and bashing them. But more constructive criticism where it is needed. Thus not receiving affiliate bonus offers, customer support services not up to scratch.

Giving warriors an opportunity to name the marketer means that a wide range of people would see it. Making it virtually impossible for the marketer to ignore. They ignore it the problem gets worse and there credibility starts to slide.

Once the matter has been fixed for all those involved in the thread it can be closed and or deleted.

I know it probably would never happen as many people would jump on the bashing band wagon rather than being constructive about the issue. So it would need to be heavily moderated or us as members would need to play close attention to hitting that alert button.

But it is just a thought to put into the back of your minds, and the moderators, and Allen

Personally I believe this would bring a little more transparency into Internet Marketing. It is a small step but you have to start somewhere.

Or even a contact with Clickbank, ,assuming itwas done through them. They may give the vendor a shake and ask for the bonuses to be delivered. Worth a try.

    Melody,

It's a real drag to hear about this happening to you.

You're a great customer (woe that even half were more like you)
and deserve better - much better.

Unfortunately, in the incestuous little mud puddle of IM, there's
no shortage of folks who jump over dollars to pick up dimes.

    Best,

    Brian
