So i guess now i am officialy a Warrior?

I wasnt sure if i should make this post or not.. but whatever if everyone else makes then why wouldnt i..

So i just made my 1st sale on Amazon. Sold a product worth 800$. Its not really the one i was promoting but its in same niche and thats even better coz its 2x more expensive than the ones on my site. Of course after singing and dancing (Shalalalala) the 1st thing i went to do is make review of that product. It seems kinda new so maybe i sell more of them!
Anyway, site is old 4 weeks and already ranking #2 position in google for main keyword since few days. So i guess i am doing something right.

I am really happy that after 2 months of IM and lots of learning and trying i finally made this sweet little sale. Its very motivational. I was slowly losing hope and faith in IM and started to think that this is not for me. But maybe it is. It must be. And I am pretty sure it wont be my last sale.

Its really a great feeling. I dont remember when was the last time i felt so happy about reaching some goal. It was for sure many years ago. But now i finally figured out what i want to do with my life. Not only that i like IM, i am addicted to it since i discovered it 2 months ago.

My next goal is to make a minimum 20 Amazon sites and reach at least 1000$ per month until next year. And nothing can stop me now!

      Congrats buddy.

I'm starting to lose a little motivation after having my sites hacked, then a hard drive crash which caused me to lose a heap of passwords and data.

I still check all my traffic on google analytics every day and then visit the amazon associates page only to see 30+ clicks and no sales.

Hopefully my first sale is just around the corner.

It's only nothing when you get to a level of confidence where it seems easy. The OP said that he was on the edge of giving up before the sale came in, and it's his first ever.

In that situation, a bigger goal might demotivate him, since it might seem as hard as flying by using his arms as wings. Maybe $1000 is just right for him; enough to get him excited, and not enough to seem totally impossible. Then, he can go for a bigger one. Sometimes the goal that seems doable is more motivating than a more lofty one.

      {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[3455194].message }}
    • Awesome, congratulations!

Be sure to focus on some cheaper products too in order to drive up your commission rate. E.g. selling at least 6 more items and getting to 6% commission level will earn you an extra $16 on the $800 product you already sold!

Hahaha! And i just woke up and logged in Amazon account and guess what?
No its not my 2nd sale, its 2nd + 3rd at same time! And now was the item i was promoting for 300$ and 1 cheaper one that i mentioned in my review which would be a "good" extra for my product. And i thought my reviews sux and no one will read them anyway because english is my 3rd language or so.
So i guess the 1st time wasnt just luck and this is really working. 2 days 3 sales!! I guess my conversion is pretty high it says 4,55% but more than half CTR were made by me coz its new site and i did lots of testing on links.

Btw when i made new post my site dropped in rankings on 6th position. Is this just google dance or i made something wrong?

And if item was ordered in February and it will be (hopefully) shipped in march, does this count that i made sale in february or march?

Well 1000$ is already a full time income here. Its just my next goal not the last one. A stable 1000$ on almost autopilot would be great and it seems pretty realistic right now. I dont believe i can make 5 or 10k per month til next year. Maybe in 2 years. Coz that would be really alot of money.

Actualy my site was made mostly from free info that is shared in thread "Amazon Affiliates - Are You Seriously Making Money?"

I needed about day and half to go through it and i take some notes. And i made some more research about things that i found useful.
Also most important thing you should learn is keyword research and analyzing competition. If u make this wrong probably your whole site will fail or it will take you very long to get ranked and possibly you will give up by then. I made that mistake with my 1st site that i started 20th december. I started it without knowing anything about IM. I was just following some ebook i found on internet which was just basic and didnt go enough in details. I was promoting a clickbank product. (at that time i thought that earning money online is possible only with clickbank). But of course i failed with that site because competition was much higher that i thought and i never got it ranked higher than 60th for my main keyword. So i gave up on that site. I didnt even like the niche so wasnt motivated enough to write about it so it has only 3 pages. And clickbank probably isnt for me coz i wlil never be good at copywriting with my poor english skills.
Anyway i was jumping alot from 1 method to another when i found this forum so i didnt even focus on that site so much. So just stick to 1 method that works best for you and stick to it. I dont think its possible to make money if u change your methods every week. Even if you just stick to 1 method there will be so much information that you will need months to learn it and be sucessful. You need learn keyword research, analyze competition, getting domain and hosting, build site, get good content, make on page seo, make off page seo. And every part goes in even more details. You will always be learnign new things.
Just start taking action even if you will fail at start and you wont make money with site you will stil get lots of knowledge and experience which is even more valuable. 2 months ago i didnt know what is domain and what is hosting so if i was such a noob and did it, you can do it too. But it takes lots of work, learning and patience

The key is diversity.. and I am not having much luck with Adsense lately so am also looking at other avenues, including Amazon.

Congratulations on getting your additional sales!

It sounds like you're very level-headed and are doing all the right things to succeed with your Amazon sites. Don't let anyone tell you what your income goals should be, as this is something only you can decide for yourself based on your level of expertise and your current situation. Success does not occur overnight, and it is a process that occurs in steps. Who knows...you might reach your $1k/month goal faster than originally envisioned and attain a higher income by the end of this year?? The crucial thing now is to have believable goals to shoot for; of course, if you hit them faster, then you can scale it up from there. Right now, it's important to have realistic objectives that you can believe in, and are not so far off that your unconscious mind thinks it is impossible to achieve.

I am getting traffic from SEO. I look for keywords with low competition (1000+ searches) When looking for niche/keyowrds i am usually looking for exact match domain available which help to rank very fast. Then i make some on page SEO, write some unqiue content and build some backlinks. This seems to work pretty well for my 1st 2 sites.

Thats the plan. I want to get some more experience on easier niches before i go in more competive niches. The site i am making right now has a bit more searches (2400 primary keyword 3500 secondary keyword - i wanna target both). I couldnt manage to get EMD for this but competition is very low so i should do well i guess.
