    High metabolism...and physically active.

I eat whatever and whenever. I watch nothing.

    5' 9" / 160 to 165 / Fifty-oneteen.

    Don't ask me how...I haven't a clue.

Ebook coming to explain whacchur doin' right, Dave.

Dieting is futile - it doesn't matter how few calories you are eating
if they store instead of burn. LOL. Got to learn how to crank up the
furnace if you are gonna stay thin.

What do you do when the furnace is broken? I can starve, feast, excercise and sweat with the best of 'em, and STILL am 150# over.

My missus is doing the Slimming World diet and has a stone very quickly, she is not big at all. Its a case of eating everything in teh right measures as far as I can make out, so you have more meat one day and more fillers and veg another.

Personally i just plenty of exercise, and eat in moderation

    Dave,
Until recently I was like you, except 5'8" and not 5'9".
But in the last year I have lost 25-30 lbs due to my illness. I am trying to gain some of it back.
    Sal,
I'd certainly read your ebook except more than likely it wouldn't apply to me due to my dietary restrictions. I certainly need ways to "crank up the furnace".

I try to keep it around 2000 calories a day. I also have a few other eating rules I try to follow.

I'm down about 40 pounds in the last year and a half.

Cardio seems to have the most effect. Burning 300 calories and eating more for example seems to do more for weight management than eating 300 less and not burning anything.

I recently went on a HCG diet and lost 20 pounds in 3 weeks. HCG is the hormone that pregnant women produce and it causes you to not feel hungry while you eat only 500 calories a day and the big plus, it helps to dislodge the fat in your body so it can be burned.

This diet was create in Italy by a doctor in the 70's I believe.

I've never dieted before and didn't think I could do this, but it was so easy. The weight seemed to come off from my belly and thigh first. It was very noticable in the short time.

It's been 4 weeks since I stopped the diet. I've been on a 7 day caribbean vacation in the first week after stopping the diet and I continue to loose about 1-2 pounds a week. Of course I'm not eating as much as I used to after only 500 calories for 3 weeks.

I am so excited about this diet. I'm looking forward to another round after the holidays.

Do your homework on that one. HCG is Human Chorianic Gonadatropin: it's made by the placenta during pregnancy. So, you are using a specific hormone that is intended to maintain the placenta to loose weight.

Using anything to put your body in an unnatural state is just plain unwise. There are natural ways to loose weight, without creating a false endocrine environmement that might cause major problems later in life. Think about it? When you add a hormone, it causes the other hormones in your body to react: estrogen goes DOWN and progesterone goes UP. Why? because there is a baby to take care of, so the body goes into pregnancy gear? Do you want that? How will that effect you long-term? Has anyone told you that HCG has been linked to sterileity? I told a friend the same thing....if you're doing it, stop slowly and safely. Second, look for more tried and tested ways to loose weight: diet and excercise. Also, herbs like chickweed are great for helping you to burn fat NATURALLY, and without hormones.

Sorry for the rant, but I care and don't want to see you be a victim of a fad diet which hasn't been tested and can potientally cause MAJOR harm for years to come.

I started eating "healthy" 3 months ago and I've dropped 20 pounds in that time. I'm also working out like a mad man.

I NEVER diet! I am able to eat whatever I want because I stay so incredibly active all the time. I usually average about 2-3 miles on the treadmill 5-6 days a week, mixed with crunches and light weight traning daily. (weights are mainly just to stay toned)

I eat healthy all year long. I don't believe in fad diets, but I do eat a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, protein and carbs one day on the weekend.

Eating the right amounts and types of calories per day, lean protein, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants. Remove stress before eating and drink plenty of water. Spread meals out during the day and not catching up when coming to evening dinner. Exercise about 20 minutes a day if possible. Its mostly about keeping to the right schedule.
