For my health blog, i am doing articles on some mental condition, and was wondering if you know what the condition is where the person is MENTALLY FRAGILE, gets scarred easily, gets frightened very easily.

It is a emotional brain condition.

Do you know the one I am on about ?

If you scare easily, and emotionally fragile, it does indeed sound like anxiety/panic disorder.

Also called panic attacks, or anxiety attacks where you get a doom and gloom feeling over you.....this starts the chemical cascade from the brain and you can mimic the signs of a heart attack, palpatations, etc.

I'm a mental health counselor - sounds like it could be a number of things.

Probably some kind of anxiety disorder. Phobias can be that way but they are very targeted on one object or situation. Could be PTSD, also based on some kind of traumatic event - hyper-vigilant, nightmares, anxious, defensive at times, easily upset.

Generalized anxiety is that you are anxious about a lot of things without one main thing being targeted. Agoraphobia means you are afraid of open spaces - many people with this hole themselves up in their homes for long periods of time. They often fear having panic attacks in public - kind of a "fear of fear".

Panic attacks are often described be the person as feeling "like they are dying" - sweating, palpitations, tightness, shortness of breath, sometimes pain, etc - also they can be very unpredictable.

I'm not sure what you mean by being "scared easily" - like frightened at a moment's notice? Or generally worried and uneasy even without something happening?

I hope that's helped some. PM me if you have more questions.

There are hormonal, nutritional, mental, neural conditions that could cause this for various reasons.

So there IS no proper answer!

Let me make sure I have this right.....

You have a health blog and are writing about an illness you don't even know the name of.

    Am I right so far?

Visitors come to your site to gain knowledge about this illness that you don't even know the name of.

See where I'm going with this?

Your visitors assume you know what you are talking about.....however.....you don't even know the name of the illness.

Doesn't this seem odd to you?

Do you feel any moral obligation to your readers?

Okay.....I just re-read my response.......I apologize for my tone but mental illness is extremely serious and people living with a mental illness hold a very special place in my heart (I spent many, many years working as a social worker with people with mental illnesses).

Be responsible, don't write and be an idiot at the same time.

Gary.....fortunately for you I did most of my venting in my response to the OP. You're getting a mild slap on the wrist this time for being insensitive.
